I think what he's trying to say is that what the "woke" have fought for pales in comparison to living through the cold war?

I don't fucking know, my brother in crust the ocean absorbs the energy of 5 small yield nuclear weapons a second because your generation didn't want the gravy train to end, don't harp on about a nuclear sword of damacles you fucking parasite

This is honestly the reason why it's going downhill, forcing people to do Y or use Z because of some problem irrelevant to the question being asked.

It limits creativity and depth of discussion on a forum designed to discuss all principles of programming

If given the option, I would take 1925 with its great depression, world wars and pandemics over 2025.

Our current society has been insidiously changed over the last 40 years to create an indentured population to serve a select few, this comes at the cost of a mass extinction event which in all honesty will most likely cause the human race to go the way of the dodo.

So no amount of social mobility will fix this, I'm sorry but the world is a nightmare hellscape. Thank god we can compartmentalize.

Migrated away from Google because they're just genuinely useless.

Search results are infested with AI bullshit and SEO slop, can't actually search for anything useful unless you know the website you're looking for, in which case I just go to the website directly.

Youtube curates a selection of completely irrelevant videos to try to shove ads down your throat, I still have to change my user agent string every time because YouTube throws a hissy fit at firefox with ublock.

Gmail is pretty much the same as any other email provider but comes at the expense of your data being sold for advertising purposes.

Don't even get me started on the shit show that is Android.

I run GrapheneOS, Fedora and debian, self host what I can and use decent providers for what I can't. I'm the furthest away from the big tech corps than I've ever been and it feels great to have computers that actually compute and not serve me useless fucking ad drivel.

Imagine being at war for literally over 90% of your societies existence and you don't want half your population to have the ability to become combatants.

Originally Reduce, Re-use, Recycle. Lots of insidious moves to push the onus onto consumers over the years but recycling's not to blame.

Shit like the whole REDCycle debacle gives recycling a bad name but that's just another example of corporations being shitty and not taking climate change seriously.

I miss when hardware upgrades actually did something that wasn't capitulating to Microsoft's shitty operating systems.

Damn dude, I'm glad you got so much out of FO4 I did one playthrough when it released and tried to play it again this year, barely got into it.

That's when Bethesda died for me, didn't find Skyrims simplifications all that good either but it was still a fun game

Feels like Bethesdas modus operandi is to make a game that appeals to everyone and that's unfortunately coming at the cost of its established fan base

Hi All,

I recently got back on the 3d printing scene after about a decade (Time flies!), the other day I was inspecting a failed print for a spool holder and noticed the Z axis striations seemed to follow some kind of oscillating pattern for the most part.

This made me think of the early day flight recording units and I thought if we were able to quantify these oscillations and compare them to the gcode we could derive what types of movement are causing these issues and hopefully troubleshoot them (perhaps even beyond our naked eyes capabilities)

So I drew up this back of an envelope concept and since I'm relatively inexperienced with 3D printing, I wanted to post it here and see what the communities thoughts are on it.

If it seems like a worthwhile endeavour I would be happy to invest my time in making it a reality and could hopefully publish this work (under FOSS of course) to help benefit everyones prints.
