“People only come to polling booths because they know they’ll be rewarded with a sausage, which is also the only reason they come to Bunnings. So it’s a natural fit"

The Pixelfed instance I'm on is shutting down so it's photo time here I guess 🙃

As a random aside I had been meaning to (for a good couple of months now) watch her new outfit reveal so I could share a screenshot here, but she has literally graduated before I got around to it smh my head

I wonder if this is the end of DuDuL's Gura animations 😢

Following the approval by state legislators of a bill that declares every human sperm has a God-given soul, a new measure signed into law Tuesday requires women in Alabama to leave semen on their lower backs for a full nine months. “Today marks a triumph in our fight for the right of men to cum on women’s backs and keep it there,” said Gov. Kay Ivey, explaining that the law, which also bans the sale of tissue paper that could be used to wipe ejaculate off the lower spine, was essential to protect the sanctity of seminal loads.

I must say a small part of me is beginning to loathe the 50-50 on whether some of the US-related headlines are real or not

Can I offer you a nice HAW in this trying time

Pixiv source (has same res, but less compressed image)

In short:

Nurses and midwives in the seat of Richmond are handing out flyers for the Greens while wearing their scrubs.

There have been allegations of bullying and harassment at pre-poll booths.

What's next?

Nurses warn the federal Labor party could see a voter backlash over state Labor decisions on nurses' pay and conditions.

In short:

The Coalition's budget bottom line would be $7.9 billion worse off than Labor's in the first two years of a Dutton government, and $21.8 billion better off in the following two years.

Most of the budget improvement comes from a $17.2 billion public service cut, and a $3.6 billion vaping tax, but migration cuts will cost the budget $4.2 billion and nuclear power will have an eventual $118 billion "off-budget" cost.

What's next?

The Coalition has not offered a timeline for a return to surplus, but Angus Taylor says it would be achieved "faster than Labor".

Peter Dutton is in a serious but stable condition after receiving a welcome to his front door earlier today.

Stopping home briefly while on the campaign trail, the Opposition Leader had a cardiac arrest after spotting a welcome doormat on his porch. After receiving CPR at the scene, Dutton recovered enough to make a statement, saying it was ridiculous that he was unable to get in the door without being subjected to a welcome to his own house.

“It’s getting out of hand. This is my home; I don’t need to be welcomed to it,” he said.

Gawr Gura, a member of hololive production, will graduate on May 1st, 2025.
As a token of gratitude for her activities so far, we have compiled footage from her past appearances in official content.
Thank you for the fun times and memories.

Obviously we should try to get some more graduations going so that we get more HoloTalk episodes

This guy also gave a great talk a decade ago about his journey to winning the lottery: YouTube

Apparently media doesn't know as of yesterday: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mount-fuji-climber-rescued-twice-returned-to-get-phone/

It was not known whether he was able to find his phone in the end, local media reported.

Idk, I guess you'd have to ask an admin for more info @_@

Edit: the instance modlog, combined with the modlog note, seems to imply using multiple accounts on various instances to vote on things - since the instance modlog moves pretty fast I took a screenshot: https://fedia.io/media/25/e4/25e4ae97d4d3a0d7cfe15e7192037f5a18a8b2f90023f9483fd44bccff112ec7.webp

It's a hot-clocked 9070 with less CUs, so maybe it's mostly for salvaging slightly-bad dies? I naively assume that the average buyer/user in China trends slightly towards the "esports"-like titles and/or is more price-sensitive than western buyers/users so the lower VRAM also kinda fits the market.

Unrelated meta: when I went to see if the pixiv link I submitted had fetched a thumbnail on lemmy.world (it did not :( ), I noticed that MentalEdge got banned by lemmy.world instance admins: https://lemmy.world/modlog/1544

Yeah a funnel would do the trick too (I assume). I'm personally less focused on materials cost and more focused about the extra effort of needing to clean up the area after a certain threshold of spillage has been reached.
