That's where I got the idea from! Excellent channel.

Fun fact, adding textiles to walls for insulation is where we get the term "furring" from.

I wish awnings were more common. Such a simple way to block out midday or afternoon sun in the hot summer.

I don't know the species, and there are a few that are found in my area. One day I'll bring the field guide and figure it out.

They're all over the place here, though you have a short window of opportunity to gather the fruit before the birds go apeshit and eat it all. I've had delicious jam made from it. Quite a sweet fruit, with no bitterness or tartness, unlike a lot of other wild edibles.

This video is someone who actually drives a truck for a living, not a suburbanite who needs a lifted child slammer pickup to boost their fragile masculinity as they drive to the supermarket.

They could make a stick that a soldier could put a spherical grenade on to help give extra range. Like an atlatl or one of those tennis ball launchers for dogs.

Gildan makes a lot of their shirts in pretty bad sweatshops.

But if you're looking for t-shirts made somewhere more "ethical", prepare to literally pay 10x the price.

For my workout or dirty work shirts I go to thrift stores. There'll be lots of polyester/cotton blend shirts but probably still gonna be more than $3.

Similar story in my life but a 12-pack of Smirnoff Ice

Canada is a petrostate after all.

They are soft.

Old ones were nice, but got worn out. Same model was no longer available.

Oil production in the USA may drop 🥰

I accidentally bought ground coffee instead of whole beans. So when the grinder ran out of beans, I took it apart and gave it a decent scrub. When I use it again, it should grind smoother and maybe even get the coffee tasting better.

Obvious missing element of the story: climate change.

Good article except the use of the propaganda term "oilsands", it should be "tar sands".

...the authors caution that the current pace of decoupling is insufficient to meet the global climate target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Less than half of the regions will be able to achieve net-zero by 2050

Azerbaijan’s president, Ilham Aliyev, told a climate conference in April: “Having oil and gas deposits is not our fault. It’s a gift from God.”

Maybe EVs are not a comprehensive climate solution??
