My favorite thing about Irfanview is that it tells you of the extension doesn't match the type and asks if you want it to rename the file.

Thanks for reminding me to block this feature at work.

I like passkeys but ONLY as the second factor. Using them as the primary makes no sense in majority of cases.

Does anybody know if current launcher is switching shader folders because of a different game version/build only or is it actually checking the rendering pipeline to see if it needs to? Because different drivers can change the shader compilation enough that it needs to be regenerated. Depending on the how the launcher is doing it, it might not realize that shaders need to be regen'ed.

Ran into this previously on an Nvidia driver update wondering why performance was so bad sometimes. I noticed that some games recompiled shaders on something as simple as a windows update and it made me kinda pay more attention to what triggered it. Realized the pattern of basically any combination of bios, vbios, cpu, gpu, drivers, windows updates, settings, can affect the way shaders are generated.

I copied the above from a post reply i made on Reddit but realized that maybe someone here would actually know the answer? I haven't looked deeply into the whole shader management recently. I just know it went from nothing to making new folders when there's an update (... why not delete?!?!)

I imagine that explosive decompression is gonna stay off mostly to avoid physics calcs for now. Seems like a PITA to get performant

I can think of a quick and dirty lore explanation being that, disabling the power to shields means it runs on backup / emergency batteries/capacitors for a short while and just waiting for it to discharge or something. Maybe that unlocks additional steps for an attacker to bring it down faster by attacking the emitters or something. It can be both more engaging and a delay/stall tactic.

I do 2 accounts, one normal, one mfa. If only the extension would let you pull from both accounts at once! KepassXC still does the usability better.

Current setup

  • limine
  • Dracut
  • Luks on /
  • Btrfs with snapshots
  • Cachyos
  • Tpm auto unlock on PCR7

Everything seems good! then I realize that if you dont use some other PCR, you can change the boot params and change root. I was thinking of using PCR11 or something but im seeing that all of the system PCRs are zero'ed out. What do I need to do to get this set up right?

... i think i have this fork. We had only the long ones in rotation and then i discovered the rest of the set and put them in service. I prefer yhe short ones for balance reasons. Especially in an empty bowl.

No its ok. When you jave both plugged in. Do a grub update (i forget the command) but then it'll add windows to the grub list when it sees it.

I don't think his point was the jack itself but the device around the jack. Physically and electronically.

A quick skim of what you copied makes me think of Steins;Gate lol

Got a 3070 off ebay. It runs really hot touching 102 at times for hotspot. I took it out to realize there there is a slight warp to the pcb which is enough to lift the cooler off the die.

Any suggestions to remount this flat? I repasted and found the temps still bad.

Also really? No metal shim around the die to help. ):

MSI ventus x2 3070

(Uhhh Liftoff isnt letting me past the image crop lol. Ill come back and add photos when i get to my main pc)
