Depends on what you want. I have 2 separate VPN servers, 1 local just for when I logon to an untrusted network and the other to get access to US content. The US based VPN is a cheap VPS running wireguard and because it's a VPS the IP is not blacklisted by major companies as VPN exit point.

It depends a bit on your needs. My proxmox setup is like multiple nodes (computers) with local (2 drives with ZFS mirrorig), they all use a truenas server as NFS host for data storage. For some things I use conaitners (LXC) but other thing I use VMs.

That's why you know that the "real" Christian's never have read the bible from cover to cover.

It is, I looked at several vendor's and it's all te same except for the nice gui. They all have their own blacklist that they feed with the spam/ham queries from their devices.

Personally not, I primarily use Samsung but hear from colleagues that they had issues with other brands. The other thing is that there are only 2 brands that make screens, Samsung and LG. Those screens are used by all the other brands as well.

They don't have to cost money. The mail filter appliances are all based on postfix, spamassassin and a virus scanner like clamav. The thing you pay for is the nice gui.

Google started as the always ad free search engine.

Just joined a couple of days ago so only fair to sum up the things I host myself.

I have 2 locations I host my personal stuff.

  • Datacenter:

    • Websites
    • DNS servers
    • Lemmy
    • Friendica
    • Mail servers
  • Home:

    • Home Assistant
    • Frigate
    • Jellyfin (incl Sonarr, Radarr etc)
    • Immich
    • Fileserver
    • Nextcloud

In the Datacenter I still run a VMware ESXi server that needs to be replaced (this winter) and at home I have a Truenas server and 4 Proxmox nodes cluster.
