Do you really think schools teach critical thinking and practical knowledge? State mandated education is geared to produce people who are smart enough to run the system and stupid enough not to question it. The fact that this dullard factory is being distrupted by what is essentially an electronic parrot speaks volumes about the whole charade.

The problem is that when people say "New Trek", they actually mean Discovery.

Discovery is a poorly written show made by people who do not grok Trek, and think that high ranking naval officers behaving like teenagers makes for good TV. SNW is alsio Nu Trek and manages to be faithful to the original vision while introducing new concepts.

Calling people critical of poory written shows bigots is very discrespectful. You may like it, but that doesn't mean that everybody else has to like it as well.

Every encounter I've had with the Catholic church has shown me that they're a hypocritical organization that wants to impose onto society a set of rules they themselves do not abide by. If you are a layman you are a chump and a mark.

It's hillarous how catty RP theory is. A man belittling another man in front of women is loser bitch behaviour, and certainly not something one would associate with an "alpha" man (confidence, leadership, courage, remaining calm in times of crises, helping those weaker than themselves etc )

Online ads can be easily circumvented, I am more annoyed with giant billboards polluting public spaces. Oh well, one more reason to spend more time in nature.

Book is The Compleat Gamester, which contains rules for games commonly played at that period.

RSS is a convenient way of getting content without bothering with bookmarks and getting annoyed with ads. I'm on a RSS finding spree, so I've decided to share this with you.

Over reliance on algorithms has degraded the user experience to the point that the average user is drowning in ragebait and extremist politics, because they drive up engagement. Just like a toddler, algorithms don't discriminate between good and bad attention, so everything that gets clicks is thrust forward. Now, you could hope to train the algorithm to show you only postive things, but engagement is engagement and the algorithm curators often engage in rage farming, where your feed is injected with things that are likely to enrage you.

You can avoid this by installing an RSS reader, going to your favorite sites, and manually adding a RSS feed. Now, your reader has things that you manually selected, with the added bonus of having a content pipe free of malicious interference. You can also divide topics in a way that you can avoid certain themes and news until you decide to engage them.
