My uncle who was in prison told me he voted against this last time because he believes if they have to pay prisoners comparable wages, they'll just give the work to contractors they are related to and charge the state.

He also told me that they can give 10 guys cleaning jobs, which gets them some spending money, time out of the cell, and extra perks when they would hire 1 outsider for that cost and have to deny access to that area while they work.

I've never been in prison, so I dont really know, but he and his old cell mate both expressed that the intent was good but the reality would be a negative for prisoners.

I think the widespread use of chat clients and services like slack in large companies has changed this norm.

There was a time where it would be unprofessional, but now its a solution to the communication flaw inherent in written messages. Conveying emotion.

All this also doesn't take into account how creators gets paid.

It's a big system, with enough moving parts that I understand the ad/pay model existing. I just wish they weren't such prices about how they choose to operate it sometimes.

If there's another president after him, they should just seize the plane since it belongs to the American people anyways. I think the value of a gift that is automatically seized is ludicrously low. I recall nintendo gifting a switch and it was made property of the American People, which usually means it goes to the Smithsonian.

Those things will be inherited and there will instantly be new landlords. Unless we want the state seizing and redistributing assets on death... which i don't.

They need to stop calling him a Democrat. He's not one.

I agree. Everything being advertised on YouTube is sketch. Same with all the repeated podcast adverts honestly.

The fact that youtube hits me with an ad for a game that says everyone thinks its fake, with the most bullshit sounding voice over, tells me they are happy to take money for obvious scam products.

I feel like the only way it would work is if they got to keep the money of whoever they killed as long as that person had over a billion dollars... and I would almost be OK with that.

I like to imagine it would reduce the collateral damage the rest of society faces when these people have a dick waving contest.

Roided out billionaires with their hearts exploding out their chests from experimental steroids would really mix things up in a good way. He'll maybe we'd get some truly sick cybernetic out of it too.

😆 And here I was think I wasn't giving anyone any credit. I just proclaimed none of us could be trusted!

I've noticed that every product I've bought in the past year with a zip-lock seal is destroyed with common use. I actually think the zip-lock itself has gotten stronger. The bag rips before the seal opens on half the bags now and whenever I try to opens bags I had no issues with before, I find myself stretching/warping the plastic before the seal eventually opens.

It's pretty frustrating and I am seeing it across many products. Cheese bags, storage bags, snacks etc...
