Welp I intentionally chose such smol squares so I guess even tho I was exploring a bit on the left there I was still in luck not to have the whole thing dry out.
Definitely looking forward to my next paint sesh, but I gotta watch a couple more tutorials first.

Thanks for the kind words. Honestly I found the paint too dry relatively smoothly. Since I had watched a couple videos I knew that acrylic dries faster than oil but I think I was a bit oversold on how fast it dries.

 

This is the first time I've actually painted anything using actual paint brushes since early middle school.
Bought a couple of supplies and just went for it.
Image on the left I wanted to do this thing I've recently found called "Bokeh art" but it looks more like weird bananas haha.
Image on the right is just "mountain".

The act of painting itself was frustrating but meditative. The paint, the brush, and the canvas did not interact in ways I had expected. I had watched some tutorials on acrylic painting prior, but not during the actual paint sesh.

Had some trouble too. I did buy some painting supplies earlier this week to get into a new hobby (acrylic painting specifically) but when I searched for stuff for my other hobbies I suddenly was overwhelmed with offers.

Sure there are officially only 53 million immigrants according to the census but the real number could be 10x larger. Think about it, half a billion illegal immigrants in this great country. SMH my head

 

This is a sculpture from the recently released "Aesthetiq" library. I wanted to get a good realistic render that emulates that iPhone flashlight everything-in-the-background-becomes-super-dark look.
Rendered in Blender at 4000x4800, then developed and downscaled in Affinity to 1000x1200.
Biggest learning: The jitter checkbox in Blender's "Lens Distortion" compositor node is absolutely fucked. You either get superb quality or 2009 smartphone in the dark artifacts. No inbetween.

 

Had a bit of inspiration to do something weird. Doesn't even really use the 5.0 features lol.
No post processing, straight Blender output. idk 5-10 mins or so.

 
 
 

Hi everyone, I've been working on this FPS for a while now and felt ready to share the first details about it.
This is my first devlog and I realize in hindsight that the script I wrote didn't really outline all the things I've done for this game but this is my first devlog, and this is the only way you can learn, right? :)

As I explain in the video, I did everything I consider to be hard and laborious first, which includes level design, rigging and animating characters, so that I can focus on my strengths towards the end.

So there's basically no gameplay yet, but that's what I'm working on now.

My goal for this game is to release before the end of the year (which should be pretty easy) and maybe even enter the upcoming Next Fest, tho I think focusing on getting the game done instead of a good demo is better in the case of this game.
