It's tribalism. Don't get sucked into it, if you care you're already on the way there. They're just phones, I enjoy them but I'm not going champion any as being NUMBER WAN! lol

It's most likely compacted with lint, stopping the cable from inserting in all the way. It usually compacts right at the back. You can use a sturdy toothpick or blunt tweezers or a paperclip even to clear it. Use a spritz of IPA alcohol into the port to loosen it up first.

And the pins lie at different angles, it's very easy to think you're missing pins, when it's just the light reflecting differently off them. They're probably fine, it takes a lot to dislodge them. Again it's probably just lint and debris buildup.

I'd go for the 15 personally. Selling points in order are USB-C port, USB-C accessories compatible and reverse charging, better battery life, lighter and more balanced in hand, back glass easier to repair, latest iPhone, slightly cheaper.

You don't get promotion 120hz, always on display, telephoto lens. But the display on the base 15 and 15 plus feels smoother than 60hz to me, it's actually quite nice but ymmv. AOD is useful if you can make use of it, but not a deal breaker imo. Lack of telephoto is situational, it's probably the least used lens for most people though, and the 15 has great in sensor/crop zoom.

I see you've ordered a Long Island Torch.

If you renew, nothing will happen. If you don't renew it, the next day you will trip over a cookie crumb and shatter the screen and back into a million pieces. Such is life's humor.

I'm sure you're just venting, but there's no need to smash it. lol

It can still be used without cellular, either as a browsing device, iPod or whatever. Just list it correctly, at appropriate price and someone will buy it.

If the blacklist is errant or due to something your parents did, then you also have the option of sorting that out and getting the phone fully functional, if you're so inclined.

I'd say after one official battery change at Apple - original batt and reasealing the phone. Each battery should last you 2+ years, so you'd get 5+ years out of the phone.

I'd say that's a good balance of device price + battery replacement price for a lifespan usage of 5 years, instead of 2x device price for example.

With the passcode or passphrase for the phone itself? No there's not help for that.

But you can gain access to her Appleid account, with the correct documentation, certificates and court documents. You can contact Apple and they will tell you what is required. You can also ask them to check for legacy contact info.

And hopefully there is a recent backup on her account that you can restore from, or access on browser through iCloud etc, and preserve some photos, mementos, or other data.

All the best.

More likely than not, it's the sim card that has failed. In which case, you just have to reissue one from your provider. Pretty easy to test if you have another sim handy from whomever, just put it in and if it's working fine, then again your sim card has probably just failed. You can try cleaning the contacts on the sim as well with some IPA alcohol, or an alcohol swab.

Otherwise it could be hardware fault, which would be a much bigger issue.

It's always been there, when phone is unlocked and you haven't swiped to open.

If you have control center disabled on lock screen, the bar also won't appear, until phone is unlocked.

There's no way to disable it, you've probably just never noticed it for whatever reason, different wallpaper or whatever.

The first one no, that's the OS on your phone obviously.

Systemdata is usually just cache data, I find offloading apps then reinstalling them can reduce this quite a bit, as well as safari clearing etc.

If you have plenty space though, it's fine to leave it, it will usually manage itself over time.

Does it say iPhone disabled? Thief probably disabled it, locked it out trying to get into the phone. Not much you can do in that case aside from restoring the phone from latest backup.
