Personally, I believe that TE is one of the few positions where it’s a good thing that the sum of the parts can be better than the parts themselves.

Blocking, catching/route running, and YAC skills. If you can do one of those three, you’ve got a chance to make a team. If you can do two? You’ve probably got a pathway to starting and you’ll probably get paid.

Kmet may be average-to-above average at any of these, but that makes him good by comparison because there’s so many TEs that just exist on rosters and really don’t contribute much. No disrespect either, it just seems hard to stand out when you have to take on multiple roles on offense.

Poles gotta make every prospective HC/OC come up with a mock gameplan to beat the Eagles/Chiefs defense during their interview. Play call sheet and everything.

Take it a step further, make them create a gameplan for Fields, Bagent, Caleb Williams, AND Drake Maye, even Jayden Daniels if he’s in play. Have them come up with a plan to maximize each guy if they’re the starter. Can’t do it? Can’t coach this team, period.

This kind of gameplan ain’t it, man.

Fields has made costly mistakes playing hero ball, this gameplan has been utter trash. You knew they would blitz, where’s the preparation for it?

Ryan Poles has to be pissed right now, can’t evaluate anything like this. Rarely do things come easy in this scheme, in the playcalling, the design. Only thing you can count on is timely mistakes, EVERY SINGLE WEEK.

Screen pass incoming?

[–] TruuPhoenix@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Getsy’s eyes gonna start twitching if he doesn’t run another screen soon

Every game, we see Poles look at his laptop then shake his head

Absolute GARBAGE playcalling. How do you not have shot plays in your gameplan against a team that blitzes ~50% of the time?

Screens are fine, but you should be able to anticipate them getting out of blitzing if your scheme is working, where’s the counters to that?

How do you come up with a game script full of screen passes? Why are you game planning to run screens on 2nd and long?

I’ve literally never seen a coach call the same play 3 times in a row as much as Getsy has. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it at all, the arrogance is unbelievable. Aaron Rodgers ain’t back there man.

Luke Getsy worked on this gameplan all week, just to come up with a play sheet full of screen passes, think about this

Refs putting the Bears back in their place LMAO

Brian Daboll has Tommy “Not Danny” DeVito looking competent, better than former 1st-round pick Mac Jones.

Jones got f’ing Matt Patricia/Joe Judge as an OC and now looks mentally broken as a QB.

Coaching matters.

Nathaniel Hackett had Russell Wilson looking washed LMAO now he’s having an under-the-radar great season, might be a front runner for comeback player of the year if the Broncos keep it up.

Having Justin Fields here doesn’t prevent the new staff from drafting a QB. Caleb Williams or Drake Maye (or the field) don’t HAVE to start week 1, especially if they’re not ready.

Fields can play out Year 4, likely with his option declined, and become a FA at 25 years old. If he’s performed well enough, then he still gets paid and he likely gave us the best chance to win.

Poles, again, doesn’t have to pick up his option, extend him, etc. if a new staff decides they want to develop Caleb or Maye… that’s fine. As long as Justin is here, he’s still under his rookie contract. Whether or not he starts another year or is a backup or traded isn’t really up to him outside of performing to the best of his ability.
