I normally just tell people. Disdaining to conceal our aims and so forth. For those times when outright saying I'm a socialist would derail things into an unproductive debate about how "communism has never worked" or whatever, I usually default to saying I'm an anti-capitalist or something like that. Even then, I try to sneak in surplus value and class conflict and similar language. If I'm fairly certain I'm talking to another leftist, I let it slip as quickly as possible so we don't spend however many minutes using coded language and sniffing each other out.

That's pretty much literally what they did if I remember correctly

The one and only reason that reddit shouldn't yet be scourged from the internet

Not yet, but I'm sure most of us will at some point

I feel like 50% of the jobs on LinkedIn are fake.

Take this with a grain of salt cuz I only learned this recently and haven't looked into it, but apparently that's literally true. Some companies will continually post and repost listings for jobs that don't actually exist. I'm still hazy on why exactly. I was told it was so that they would appear to be growing at all times, but again, take it with a grain of salt.

Fair point, I don't know why I bothered to say that. Other than the fact that he (surprisingly) isn't outwardly obnoxious. There's just been a few alarm bells tripped here and there. So far.

That part, but also probably the sort of guy who's very into the idea of those things imparting virtue, and notions of meritocracy that basically boil down to "If you're poor and undereducated, it's your fault"

Somebody help me name exactly what kind of guy my new coworker is. He's identified himself as a libertarian, has mentioned several times in conversation how much he loves Dostoevsky and classical music and Marcus Aurelius and such like, and has even read the Gulag Archipelago (the first time I've encountered a real person who's read it, I might add.) Very big into chess and the gym and science and so forth. I don't wanna savage him, he's a nice enough guy, but I find him vaguely insufferable and I can't tell why. Other than him being a STEMlord and a bit of a tryhard anyway.

And like the worst that comes their way is that they're made to seem a tad bumbling and foolish at times. Which, no, it's all their fault, all of it. The better ending would've been for the little girl to realize that Barbie herself isn't a fascist, she's just an unwilling arbiter of evil capitalists who sell a constrained, hobbling, heteronormative vision of femininity to women in order to make big bucks
