Thank you all. This was very helpful.
This is my first time encountering his work. When I read the title of this post, I interpreted it as “artwork title - credited artist”. so I thought that “the internet’s sweetheart (for understandable reasons)” was the title of the artwork in the thumbnail.
It would indeed be perfectly understandable why that crawling mummy thing would be the internet’s sweetheart though.
I live in one of the states that required a prescription. I drove across state lines last week to get my booster shot. Looks like if I had waited a little longer I could have saved myself a three hour round trip.
Forgive the pedantry. It’s me hearties.
I recommend the book On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers. Sounds like it’s exactly what you’re looking for.
You mean to tell me that 2008 was 17 years ago? This makes me deeply unhappy.
Honestly? You’d be surprised at how helpful it can be. I’ve sent routes with a slight buzz that I never could have done completely sober. It helps take the edge off the fear, and it helps you stay loose and keeps you from sapping all your strength from tensing too much. Every advantage helps when you’re pressing your limits.
Climbing while excessively drunk is of course a terrible idea.
I loved the first one! I’m on board for a sequel. More than likely it will be a case of diminishing returns, but if it’s even half as clever and fun as the first was I’ll be satisfied.
Yosemite national park, for me.
