I use NixOS on all my machines, much less pain and suffering than I've had on other distros.

Ahh man, I'd almost missed my appointment with the psych' recently. At least my new one is local and easy to schedule with, get along well and are happy to trial Dexies' (been on Ritalin for ~1yr)

Previously I could only find someone to prescribe me remotely, I'd spent ~10 months waiting for an appointment for the Psych' to quit that clinic. Waited another 6 months and landed a script.

For me it's been a significant improvement to my life, just took me until I was almost 40 to get diagnosed.

Depends on if you are space constrained or not.

If not any GPU can be an M.2 GPU, so long as you don't mind the 4x lanes.

Plenty of riser kits available from AliExpress or similar etailors. I've got an old HP all-in-one I've considered strapping a GPU to for some encoding tasks (plex / frigate) but also for shits and giggles.

NM has been a marketing gimmick since Intel launched their long-standing 14nm node. Actual transistor density depending on which fab you compare to is shambles.

It's now a title / name of a process and not representative of how small the transistors are.

I've not paid for a CPU upgrade since 2020, and before that I was using a 22nm CPU from 2014. The market isn't exciting (to me anymore), I don't even want to talk about the GPUs.

Back in the late 90s or early 2000s upgrades felt substantial and exciting, now it's all same-same with some minor power efficiency gains.

I want an ATV with veins and feelings.

I believe that functionality exists already if you are using Plex; via RSS sync.

Need a side profile, looks can be deceiving.

If it's that shape but thin it would go in the bin tbh. Nothing worse than bending a spoon shoveling ice cream into my mouth.

Really depends on what you want to do.

Same as any Linux system you don't want applications to have root access all the time. However if I want to remove a system file or modify something that a normal user isn't able to, something is going to require higher privileges than the standard user account has.

Plenty of nix'd config, nix-colors theming for most applications. I've only been using linux for around 6 months, NixOS has really clicked with me.

My config might be sub-optimal in areas, but its gone through some heavy changes since its inception.
