"Replacing high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar doesn’t make sense," said Corn Refiners Association President and CEO John Bode. "Replacing high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar would cost thousands of American food manufacturing jobs, depress farm income, and boost imports of foreign sugar, all with no nutritional benefit.”

Corn farmers heavily voted for Trump, but according to them they’re weak and stupid anyway, so now we just wait for the cost of Coke to jump due to importing sugar. ‘Course, he never said anything about Pepsi, so people just flock to the much cheaper Pepsi products and Coke goes under! Brilliant!

But did it actually work? And did anyone else join in?

As a parent, I’ll say that while sure, I’d love to outsource “some of the tedious crap”… it’s their birthday. It’s literally the ONE TIME in the year it matters enough that you pay attention to your kid and plan things.

Like, you can phone in so much else, but it’s their fucking birthday. They will remember this crap and never let you forget if you screw it up.

What even is the point of these agreements if the next president/administration can just come in and say “nevermind, we’re actually not doing that”. Can’t we get some sort of legislative process put in place around this kind of thing?!

~24 years ago I had 2x 15k SCSI drives that were 3.5” wide but the full height of a 5.25” drive. For the time the things were fast as hell… they were also, however, hot as hell. So I got some large aluminum heat sinks and attached them to each side and made a 5.25” drive adapter out of aluminum. Since it was open to the front my case exhaust fans cooled the drives as it was the main intake for the case and it worked pretty darn well until I upgraded.

This website is cancer, so:

Apple is working on a giant foldable device, which could be a version of the iPad Pro or a MacBook, as it is slated to feature an 18.8-inch screen. The confusion regarding the product arose when it became clear that the device would not be equipped with a dedicated physical keyboard. However, the fact that it could be folded like a laptop did not completely rule out the possibility of it being a MacBook. It is now being reported that the company's 18.8-inch foldable device will run macOS instead of iPadOS, making it a close relative to the MacBook lineup rather than the iPad.

A MBP like this sounds horrible. I’ve seen some other manufacturers do this, where they have a screen on the bottom and it’s a keyboard… I know apple is great at haptic feedback, but that’s still a big bucket of nope for me. A fold out iPad, running iOS would be kinda cool, but also way too clunky. I’m not sure the use case here.

I’ve had a few prior to that degrade as well. Definitely rip your discs. DVDs and BluRays. I had one BluRay get its encryption key revoked and couldn’t play it anymore… luckily I was able to rescue it by ripping it in an older BR-ROM drive.
