I don't have children so you can accept or dismiss my contribution as you please. I do have about 50 nieces and nephews of varying age (I have a big family) ... and they have lots more children after them.

Children shouldn't be exposed to the internet on their own until about 12 or 14 years of age. They shouldn't be given free reign to look at things as they please. If you do want to expose them to it all ... then it should always be under parent supervision.

I was born in the 70s (I never know what generation that makes me) ... all I know is that it placed me at the perfect age to grow up without the internet and to grow as an adult with the internet. Now I know how to navigate, explore and deal with the internet and social media on my own in a very objective, critical point of view ... I don't trust everything and I trust people less and I question everything I come across. I'm not perfect and I'm not the smartest but I am very careful about what I watch, read and interact with on the internet. I still do dumb things and watch dumb things but I also do my best to stay aware of many other important political, social, philosophical things in the world.

I got to that point by being able to have a critical view of the world and to learn how to do things on my own and learn lots ... mainly because I grew up without the internet. It takes a lot of imagination, work and brain power to try to do things with very little resources when you're a kid ... and that is an important training period for a young mind ... plus I learned to read books, comics and paperbacks .... reading takes in a lot more information than in watching 18 hours of minecraft videos, fail videos, funny videos or influencers dancing around.

I think kids should be encouraged to just learn on their own without the internet or with limited access .... then given full access to it once they get a bit older. If you just raise kids on nothing but free for all internet ... their brains are going to be pudding by the time they turn 18

I just had a look at the global demographics

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_sexual_orientation

Those identifying as a different sexual identity from heterosexuality averages less than 10% of the overall population .... it could be argued that LGBTQ+ people who are stigmatized would be less likely to report their actual identities in these surveys ... but in progressive countries like Canada, Australia and most developed European countries who are supposedly more progressive and open still show a minority of the population identifying as such.

It will forever be a stupid reason to fight over identity of any gender or identity in anyone .... especially at this point in our history when so much more should be more important to all of us ... we're facing an existential crisis right now as a species and instead we are spending a lot of time and energy debating our sexual morals and preferences?

Another example of the Scots fighting for freedom .... they've been doing it successfully for thousands of years and they're still doing it!

I will never in my life ever understand the fight against gay, lesbian, bi, queer, LGBTQ+

They are a fraction of the population yet the majority causes them immeasurable harm simply because they exist. The louder they persecute, the more prominent LGBTQ+ movement becomes .... it's contradictory. If conservatives had just left them alone, there would almost be no issue about any of this at all.

There are far more important debates and fights to be had in our society .... namely the fight to preserve the survivability of our species in the coming centuries ... yet here we are fighting about who gets to show or not show their tits!!!!

I've often fantasized of owning a group of dogs and naming them all as the heads of major religions and demonic figureheads

Jesus
Yahweh
Muhammed
Buddha
Shiva
Satan
Lucifer

German trench digging contract company driving into a war zone, setting up orange cones, and saw horse barriers telling everyone that this area is under construction and won't be ready until next Tuesday.

Tractor starts noisily digging into the earth in full view of the British army ....

Someone shoots the tractor .... "Hey! We're working here!!!"

British sniper sheepishly crawls back and gets scolded by everyone.

This boat has rich parents ... and connections .... it has been to Epstein Island

The highways are literal ice, either thawing, freezing or going to become ice later tonight and people all over facebook, messenger, whatsapp, whatever are all messaging each other and me and my family asking what the highways are like today and if they can safely go out. People are dying on the highways this week all over the north. Stay at home.

The safest thing to do is just don't go on the highway when it is raining in December in northern Ontario!!!

But then I had to get up again because I had to clear the driveway of snow. Then I spent the day doing my usual work. Then I went back to bed.

I can't abide the red uniform but the rest checks out.

Thoroughly enjoying watching DS9 as I'm halfway through the series now. Here are a few of my favourite scenes from Season 5 Episode 6 'Trials and Tribble-ations'.

Digital CGI and special effects are pretty much the norm in film and shows these days but these are scenes produced in 1996 when effects like this were possible but still not easy to do. I really got a kick out what they were able to recreate to make this episode. A really fun watch indeed!

I just finished watching DS9 Season 5 Episode 5 'The Assignment' and as much as I loved it, I couldn't believe the treatment they gave Keiko. It was a tense episode and I enjoyed seeing O'Brien getting psychologically tortured and I laughed at first at the treatment of Keiko but by the end of the episode I felt really bad about how she was portrayed.

The whole dragon lady dynamic is fun for a while but it gets old fast and you start feeling bad for the character.

I also loved the part in the episode where it's O'Brien's birthday and everyone instead sings 'For He's A Jolly Good Fellow' ... it's a whole musical rights issue where someone has to be paid for the performance of the song 'Happy Birthday' which is why they didn't use it ... yet another torturous addition to the life of O'Brien.

Around the world, there are no reports of anyone disappearing or suddenly ascending while plenty of the devout and desperate commit suicide by the thousands.

For the past month, we had begun to receive radio signals broadcasting audio in the German language reminiscent of propaganda from 1940s earth.

Then his thoughts drifted back to his worries, fears and anxieties inside his mind trapped in a Locked In Syndrome.

He didn't know how long he could hold to the edge of the roof as he dangled dangerously by one hand three stories over the frozen driveway.
