I appreciate Taylor Swifts achievements, but come on guys... Catherine_the_Great

  1. Seized Power with Surgical Precision: Orchestrated a coup against her unpopular husband Peter III by winning over the military and elites. He was dead within days and she ruled unchallenged for 34 years.

  2. Mastered Identity Politics: German-born, she rebranded herself as Russian: converted to Orthodoxy and learned the language and then used it to rally national pride and loyalty.

  3. Talked Enlightenment, Ruled Autocracy: She courted philosophers like Voltaire and Diderot, published liberal-sounding reforms (Nakaz), and branded herself as a "philosopher queen", while keeping tight control and strengthening the nobility.

  4. Turned lovers into loyal lieutenants — military commanders, diplomats, advisors — then replaced them when they weren't useful anymore.

  5. Expanded Without Overextending: Catherine outmaneuvered rivals in wars and diplomacy: took Crimea through influence, took parts of Poland through alliances, beat the Ottomans by maneuvering.

They caught a guy, Lubbe. As far as i know it is not clear why he set the fire as the Nazis never had any evidence. There are 3 theories:

  • the Nazis ordered him to do it.
  • he was doing it as a communist
  • he just did it as vandalism/arsonism

But we do know that they absolutely used it to crack down against the communists--

it actually creates a lot of traffic jams too. The differences in speed and the goal to drive even faster produce hard braking moments which have a chain reaction. Especially in rush hour, where it matters, we really don't get anywhere faster.

We are stupid for not limiting speed

From linkedin, we can always assume it is humblebragging. But her line makes me wonder: "Specifically - Whats standing in the way of my ability to be content without conventional markers of accomplishment?" It could be the classic "oh i there is so much i have to learn because i have so much linkedin-self-awareness" Tartas has a point. She isnt shaming her husband.

Ecosia on Android is based on Chromium. Qwant on Android is based on: Firefox for Android, which uses the GeckoView engine.

Otherwise they are just search engines.

never forget: those people sitting in that town hall are already a filtered group. They are not all voters. Society may or may not still agree with that Mike Flood.

I just read the article. Good job beavers, and great story!

But it says nothing about dirty water. Just the image here does. Why was the water dirty, is there any info on that?
