And goddamn, that shit does not even look good does it. Like idk I sorta had this idea in my head that the cybertruck at least accomplished Elon’s dream of making a cool futuristic looking car, even if the functionality was shit, but wow he didn’t even do that. It looked like - you ever see those things on Instagram where artists take children’s drawings and make them into realistic looking artwork? It look’s like he took a child’s crappy drawing of a car and turned it into real life. It’s blocky, it looks clumsy and it has no sense of space.

The original Tesla car I get. I’m not a car guy, but to me that’s what a “cool” car looks like. It’s shiny, it’s sleek, it looks luxurious. The cybertruck looks like Elon just went to a scrapyard, found a bunch of metal sheets and haphazardly strung them together. The whole car looks like it’s about to fall apart if you so much as touch it. It’s also extremely dull looking. Not only is it gray, but it’s an extremely dull gray. No sheen to it at all.

I feel like the look Elon wanted was “imposing” and it doesn’t even accomplish that. I’m bigger than the car. And because it looks so crap and so fragile, there’s nothing imposing about it at all. Just buy an F150 or a big ass hummer if you really need an imposing looking car. Sorry for the rant but I’m just in shock at how shitty that car looked.

Don’t worry, volcel police has already been put on high alert

I'm moving out soon and I'm thinking of moving into this beautiful pre-war building. I'm worried though about covid spreading and I'm wondering what precautions people living in apartments currently are taking.

Thing is I can find an apartment with a private entrance and in-unit wash/dryer, which would probably be better for covid, but this building is just nicer - better location, maintained better, it seems like the landlord is more present and responsive. Idk it's a better deal, I'm just worried about covid.

This heat is absolutely unbearable. I was out yesterday and I ended up having to reschedule a couple appointments today and tomorrow just because the heat so completely exhausted me and I needed to recover. It doesn’t help that my house is so old and won’t cool down even with all our acs running

Spoonboy? Not actually sure on that. I mention it though because a lot of their music deals with themes of gender. I’m especially thinking of Sexy Dreams. So you might get something out of it either way.

It is 2024. I log into Hexbear. I see a post that gives me psychological damage. I continue scrolling and rack up even more psychological damage.

what is the water:chia ratio you use for the chia egg?

[–] rootsbreadandmakka@hexbear.net 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

do you throw them straight into the oatmeal, or soak them beforehand?

[–] rootsbreadandmakka@hexbear.net 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I am trying to add them to oatmeal, but I think what I'm going to do is soak a bit in water as you say, and then try mixing that gel into the oatmeal. Hopefully that all tastes okay

yeah that's what I'm getting from trying to read up a bit. I think I'm going to try and soak them for like 15 minutes or something in some water before adding them to the oatmeal.

Really the only two that are in conflict are the nyt and wsj. But job growth can slow even if hiring beat expectations, if expectations were low. CNN seems to be the most accurate in this instance. It’s also the one that’s not basing their headline on entirely subjective “expectations”

Bought some chia seeds, thinking of throwing them in my oatmeal in the morning. Can I just throw them in raw? Or am I supposed to cook them? (or do something else with them)

2024 and still no ball condoms walter-breakdown

I've been making a good amount of beans lately, usually for use in salads/on tacos/sandwiches. So dry applications. Accordingly, I've been draining them and saving them dry, but I'm wondering - what actually is the best way to store beans? Should I be saving them in the bean water or does it not really matter?

Tired of the played out “what if the Nazis won ww2.” Let’s take it back to 1914. What if the central powers won ww1?
