Now put that mixer to use and whip up lots of cream. YUM!

Edit: lots not logs...lol

I wouldn't for a second think or hope that he endures the distress of poverty or feeling needy given where he started - he has tried to do good with his fortune and that is good enough for me...he is doing what he can for the world around him and should be comfortable as he does so. I hope to find my own (much less extravagant) comfort some day.

Best calm-down music in the world. Love listening and playing them.

At the risk of offending (I really don't mean to) that is not at all dull. You're embarking on a mind-bending expansion of your mind-body connection that will break your ability to easily type a reply to this! Admit it, you're struggling to use your alter-keyboard correctly here. You've broken through from dull to anguish in my mind. CMV

And surely you used 12 gauge or lower wire to make it happy, right?

I stopped going there a couple of years ago unless Amazon reports that they subbed delivery through USPS. My wife's like it's important to go every few days and every time she walks in after saying "not worth the walk" because there is never anything worthwhile anymore. If it's important the app or the email will say so - the post is dead.

If you're in your 20's experiencing this you should, frankly, check in to an ER. Old guys like me have some similar issues but not as bad as you are describing. Get some help, son.

Agree. I have updated my Ubiquity router twice in the last month. I've updated HA ... a STUPID number of times in that span. Whoever wrote that is a dunce.

Wifi networks and home automation systems are expected to last 50+ years.

I was reading up on the life expectancy of different building materials when I came across this gem.

Screenshot is of page 122 https://www.portseattle.org/sites/default/files/2025-02/SEA-SIPP%20Technical%20Report%20Appendix%20C%20Life%20Expectancy%20of%20Building%20Materials.pdf

I guess the ethernet cables could last that long, but they rate house wiring to a lower lifetime. Ethernet cables are not "wireless", however.

The only other wireless systems I can think of are garage door openers, but they are definitely not expected to last 50 years.

Thanks for the heads up. Must have taken a minute to federate the change, I can see it now. Appreciate your civil response versus..., you know.

I've found that if you want engagement then most communities are fairly quiet. This is not /r so there are fewer around. If you want to engage then find a post that resonates with you and engage with it. Lemmings are conversational but you need to poke them to get something back.

F-em. Late 2014 Mac mini plex server (also running all the 'arrs) still going strong. I'm not buying a new one until it shorts out and dies.

We are forever infested with squirrels here. They cavort on our roof and patio cover (making such a racket), they chew on our wood siding making holes or at least gaps for rats, they chew the lead boots on our plumbing vents causing leaks. They cannibalize our lawn furniture cushions for their nests. Squirrels are bad!

Last year I employed a tube trap affixed to a fence leading up to my garage and cleared out about 20 tree rats in about 2 weeks. Life was good for a while but they are back and today I redeployed the trap and within 3 hours I had my first customer. I wonder how many I can get this time around. I have self-imposed 2-week limit on my efforts because I will never be done if I don't set a limit.

I know I will never win the squirrel war but I will win the short term battle.

I've been a follower of the other (dull_men) sub and, of course have hit the dull.men forum at (yuck). I even watched James May try his hand at being uninteresting on TV. I have come to the conclusion that I am so dull that I have nothing interesting to contribute. This is my legacy and I know that this cements my place here.

I have ceiling fans that I run (on slow) clockwise when it's cold. I can clearly feel the mixing of upper level (warm) air into my environment which is comfortable but my wife thinks any moving air is cold air and hates it. I think I need to position multiple temp sensors at various heights and locations to prove my point but my concern is that if I have empirical evidence to back my supposition it will be poorly received because, of course, I'm over-thinking it. Thoughts?

Edit: after receiving the thoughts I requested I must say I agree with everyone and will simply pack my opinion away and mix a lovely beverage with some warming whiskey when we settle in tonight...of course, I'll make two so we can enjoy together.

Edit edit: Sorry, but as I am a goober I had to gather data and I can unequivocally state that fan blowing up makes temp sensors warmer.

My wife was kind enough to get the neck for me. Feels good to chop the mop and now I'm ready for come-what-may.

Starting tomorrow I'm off through the new year. What should I do to really bang it up? I was thinking breakfast out tomorrow seems like the way to go.

I suspect some of you are already aware of it but I wasn't.

I love playing with my HA and associated devices. I suspect that most of you reading this get a bit of a jolt every time you add and incorporate a new sensor, camera, integration and get to play with it.

I have all the door/window sensors and locks/covers, every angle of my exterior covered with cameras, alarm, network devices, appliances, sprinklers, household devices covered.

Any ideas for a new thing I can play with?
