yeah apparently she some how came across a liter of sick kittens and her first thought was "snake food".
ok...I just have questions. A. it was an ailing kitten, fair enough, but if you have a snake in your classroom don't you already have access to mice/rats to feed it? B. there were MULTIPLE ailing kittens that the teacher then allowed a student to take home, why were there MULTIPLE? C. Where the hell did this teacher find MULTIPLE ailing kittens? D. what did all these ailing kittens have? simple eye infections? like...I don't get it. If you have a liter of kittens that are all sick wouldn't you take them to the vet? Even if I personally had a snake my first thought wouldn't be "hmmm, multiple sick kittens...I'm going to feed them ALL to my snake at school"
they'll pay you in company scripts which can only be used at the company store and to pay your rent at the company owned residential property. first place that will roll this out? Amazon.
I run Akkoma, Navidrome, Searx, valutwarden, RomM, Forgejo, wireguard, RDP, and a few other things all via docker. Honestly I just keep everything in their own dir and just have Yazi on my server to make it easier to manage. I don't auto update anything, it's all manual updates.
I'm probably going to slap Watchtower in there to just make things easier. don't really need to over think it in all honesty.
I don't think people realize that if a new US civil war kicked off the lines wouldn't be as clear as north vs south. this would be state vs state, city vs city, neighbor vs neighbor. you could draw lines in your god damn sub division/street.
And if it were alliances between states it would be a god damn logistical nightmare. Imagine California being allied with New York for example. or Hell Minnesota being allied with like Arizona or whatever. how do you move supplies, troops, and what have you between allied states when you got a shit ton of hostiles between the two.
Add to the fact that unlike the first civil war you now have US military bases all over the world. what happens when you got folks within the SAME base in the middle of Germany that suddenly don't "agree" with each other?
Cluster fuck is an understatement.
for the grift. There's money to be made being a facist in America because you can con your fellow facists for money. He wanted to be a martyr for "the cause" and then ride that clout for financial gain. go be on some podcasts, start his own podcast, start a crypto currency, etc, etc, etc.
To these idiots shooting oneself in the leg is a minimal price to pay for a potential multi-million dollar payday.
I host my own Akkoma instance and it's great. easier to set up than Mastodon, more light weight, etc. Only downside is the UI is a bit of a cluster and you really need to do some editing to make it look decent. Haven't had any issues interacting with anyone on Mastodon and what have you.
for those curious it's $174,000 per annum for members of the House and Senate. according to rentcafe and numbeo the average price for an apartment just under 800 sq ft a month is about $2500. Other cost of living expenses are on par with other major cities.
They're fine. This doesn't include other benefits and kick backs and what have you which I imagine they all get plenty of.
OR they could grow a spine and actually back up the shit they claim to advocate for. You can simply geoblock that area/state/country and state to your users there that you value free speech and you won't bend the whims of a authoritarian government. Let the people who are now being denied a service complain and get it changed. Other companies have done this most recently Imgur.
For a company to immediately bend the knee and institute ID checks doesn't fly right with me. They're stating that they are more than willing to change their policies at the whim of whatever government body. Also they are more than happy to start collecting MORE data on users to then do god knows what with. How do I know Bluesky isn't going to sell said data they've obtained? how do I know how secure my ID is with them? And I do have to question their motivations when they consistently, immediately, agree to collect data on their users this way. Bluesky is essentially still a start up and they need funding, what better way to get more cash flowing in then harvesting their users data?
I wouldn't trust Bluesky as far as I could throw them.
well sure, it'll be worse. Not like EA has had a glorious track record or produced original and innovative/good games in the past god knows how many years. They'll just transition purely to the Madden and Battlefield company with some Sims sprinkled in every now and again. that's it. Mass Effect is pretty much going to be done and dusted. fat chance we'll ever see another Titanfall. And I bet they'll buy the license for WWE from 2k or just offer WWE/TKO more money. With how closely the Saudi's are now with WWE and the fact EA already has the UFC...yeah makes sense.
in high school I dated a Mormon girl and it was so bizarre. she only ever showed ONE emotion, happiness. that's it, and even then you could tell it was genuine. Like I remember she absolutely bombed an exam and it was clear she was upset about it to point she wanted to cry but she couldn't. she refused or simply didn't know how to show that emotion.
Also yeah she drank like a fish when her Mormon friends weren't around.
soooo the situation is NOT under control.
