Payback is fair? Even though these very digital megacorporations are just now facing antitrust lawsuits for very good reasons? The only argument for having to use these platforms as a content creator is reach. But if Google, Amazon, Meta, etc. only got their market-dominating positions by illegal means, nothing is fair about wanting payback.
I am paying money to people creating content for me directly, even for some YouTube channels. If I were to abide by Google's rules, I'd have to pay double. For the infrastructure & the people actually producing the content. Sorry... Why would I? I will not pity a monopolist because of their lost profits as long as I can circumvent it somehow.
Still makes much more sense to build buildings or furniture from wood than to just burn it for heating and claim it's a renewable energy source.. With buildings you will at least be sure to keep that carbon out of the atmosphere for a longer period.

Aber ist es nicht ein bisschen egal ob man sagt "nur im Verdachtsfall" oder immer? So oder so braucht man dann doch ein backdoor im E2EE verschlüsselten Messenger, oder? D.h. diese Software wäre so oder so kompromittiert und das kann von anderen Akteuren ausgenutzt werden.
I think some of these requirements have a lot to do with bots and trolls. If Lemmy were as popular as Reddit, we'd probably see way more rules like that.

Welcher Schaden wurde denn angerichtet? Vielleicht führt es ja letzten Endes dazu, dass mehr Leute die diesem Vorurteil/Mythos aufgesessen sind (weil Mythen eben oftmals verbreiter sind), es nun besser wissen. So könnte man die Sache bspw. auch betrachten.
Und welche politischen Ideen er deiner Meinung nach implizit bewirbt würde mich jetzt auch interessieren.
Ich glaube nicht dass wir beurteilen können ob er sich schämt. Sicherlich hat er eine gewisse Arroganz und eine zu hohes Vertrauen in sein Wissen. Das ist natürlich auch ein Grund für die große Häme. Aber für dumm halte ich ihn deshalb keineswegs.
