I don't think so. Sheep don't smell like dogs.

there was this idea for a swiss wide hyperloop like metro: https://swissmetro-ng.org/en/

and more recent one a similar system just for cargo: https://www.cst.ch/en/

Both have enormous potential but ofc also enormous costs. More realistically I would be really happy if we would have a European wide high speed railway. Similar like the Shinkansen, connecting all major cities.

It never really worked out well. However, it could become relevant again in a distant future when all work has been outsourced to robots. But looking at the current world I doubt that we will ever reach that point.

Sounds awesome. I am planning to visit Angkor Wat next year and will put that definitely on my list.

I wanted to post the other version as well, but you got there before me ;)

When we were kids, my brothers and I each got a Victorinox with our names engraved on it when we had the 10th (or 12th, not sure anymore) birthday.

Unfortunately, I lost mine near a cabin in the mountains. It sat out there all winter, and then someone finally found it the next summer and handed it back to us. Of course it was rusted not sharp anymore and the lettering on the name was a bit broken.

That was almost 20 years ago. Recently I had a flash of inspiration and decided to ship the relic to the Victorinox support. They went all‑out: replaced parts, oiled it, sharpened the blade, even re‑printed the cover. They even sent back the old cover because of its sentimental value.

And this for only 25$! Now, it's good as new.

Battlefield 2

Hello Canadians

Me and my partner will spend two weeks in the Rocky Mountains (southern BC). What is the best app for looking up trails? I saw that the national parks provide some information but besides that there doesn't seem to be some kind of official hiking map. My fear is that there will be a lot of people on the well-known trails in the national parks.

Another Poster

After seeing Cory Booker's speech, I got an idea for another poster. Feel free to use it as you see fit. Distribute it and put it up where ever you want.

It's formatted for 8.5x11, so you should be able to just print it off and go.

The source for this version seems unclear. However, there are others in a similar style by Pat Keely. All show the conflicts with the progress of weapons and equipment. Might post them later as well.

Pro European Poster. Seems to be made by some reddit user ~~u/luke5353~~. Thought it was worth sharing, especially at the moment.

Not an actual poster but still interesting. Especially the flag fading into the eagle. According to the source:

Cover of American Federation of Labor organizing leaflet, which explained to workers their right to form unions, guaranteed by the National Labor Relations Act (Wagner Act) of 1935.

Based on a US poster from WW2
