I can see the gold card being a way to give immediate citizenship to the ultra wealth and them tax them if the US was a sensible country. Instead it's a way to avoid taxes.

Because no one wants the individual cost of going actively against MAGA. Sure you can be a nuisance if you stick it out but you could also have many personal consequences. Could end up dead later too based off how this admin is progressing.
Seems far more likely to me. There's no way that many people are unsubscriing at the same exact moment. It takes what? A few minutes to cancel the subscription. It's not like with concert tickets where someone would be refreshing every couple of seconds to check for the tickets to drop.
I hope people remember that the problems in the US are not wholly unique and things that can't happen in other countries. It's another form of american exceptionalism to think that somehow Americans as a group of humans are worse than others. Look to the UK for proof of that. And look at what is happening in Australia and track it out to a longer period of time.
Edit: except for the guns obviously that is a pretty stupid thing here that other countries don't have but it's definitely not the sole problem.
Who do we think is going to collapse first russia or the US? I'm putting money on russia simply because they seem to be running out of the momentum that the USSR built and once that's gone there won't be a lot left. The US still has enough military power that I don't think anyone will be willing to start an offensive for at least a few decades.
