American brands are trying to trick consumers into thinking they aren't buying American brands. Backlash isn't about a trade war. It could go away and it still wouldn't change that the US is a fascist country sending people to El Salvador without due process and even arresting their mayor while threatening annexation of other countries due to inability to comprehend the concept of consent.

It was the same with Elon before he went head first into facism. They usually start by selling themselves as liberal with some occasional praise of conservatives. Then later claim they are moderate or the go to favorite of tech bros claiming they are libertarian, since saying they are conservative might receive backlash.
Based on how nerdy lemmy seems to be with all the Linux talk the demographic that is more similar to old reddit.

I thought it wasn't necessarily due to a lack of attempt to reach them through games, but that they saw "woke" as a reason for why games or movies turned out bad.
So not necessarily a hey fellow kids we play games too, but outrage over the medium they like flopping or not turning out how they wanted.
Like the amount of right wing reviewers for Star Wars and so on blaming woke targetting for why their franchises turned bad, and turning it into a culture war.
To a non US company please.
Yeah for the masses they will likely always flock to commercialized easy to use social media that reaches critical mass the fastest, so them being willing to move and keep moving is best we can hope for. For rest of us stuff like fediverse will be there to use.
Who wants a free final trip to El Salvador?
I wondered because Facebook. Mostly only know old people using it these days. Boomers and people who were young enough to have grown up using it when it first came out.
Consumerism is undefeated.
They are putting on a theater of pretending to be disapproving so it makes all the times they suck up to him seem as if it coming from a source of integrity by pointing to the times they disagreed.
