Yep. I use an instant-read thermometer wherever I'm cooking whole pieces of meat. If I've cut it intobite-sized pieces, I do not. I don't cook beef at home anymore, but would only use it for things like roasts.

I don't daily drive linux at home because of the video editing software I need to use (Davinci black magic) not reliably working and often breaking on upgrades. Secondarily, some games won't run. If I'm afraid to upgrade to not break things, that puts my security at risk which is not an acceptable situation.
Could the monarch technically (I know they aren't typically involved in politics in recent generations) force a change? Is there any way to petition them to do so? I don't really know the UK system or if this would actually be a good idea.
Needs something green on the plate (and maybe some gravy). Now I want mashed potatoes.
Noise-cancelling headphones and allergy meds (at least this time of year)
Japan has it (and, more recently, paternity leave), but using it can be harder. Old companies try to pull all kinds of BS to deny it or change the woman's job or such. It's getting better and enforcement is cracking down but, as with all things here, it moves slowly.
I don't know that FF had a specific hero as it were. DQ I suppose did in that they were at least named and had some story. Megaman is a good callout, though. We did have them in the computer gaming world in the more nebulous sense (like how I see FF). I guess I'm also thinking about how hero is used here; is it an existing character with a backstory (more like DQ or even megaman) or some character you create (FF again but also all the old SSI games on PC and many others).
I was thinking of fighting games but OP said nowadays it seems that all games are made for teenagers and adults.
and I kinda threw the early SF and MK games into that bucket.
I'd argue that xennials didn't really either. I certainly didn't think of Mario, Sonic, Doom Guy, etc. as heroes. The closest that jumps immediately to mind as a named person is the protagonist of Wolf3d whose name I won't attempt to spell here, but even then I didn't give a shit about his story which, if memory serves, amounted to a blurb in a manual.
My heroes were in print in books and I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with that.
I wonder what the Japanese source is. I thought we recycled PET and burnt all the rest for power here. I guess not.
The Kosmos 482 probe, a relic from the first Space Race, crashed harmlessly into the Indian Ocean west of Jakarta, Indonesia at 2:24 a.m. EDT (6:24 a.m. GMT), the Russian space agency Roscosmos announced on Telegram.
So my guess would be it hit R4 or S4, maybe?
(For clarity, my initial guess was V1 purely to spite me)
When I was still a fairly small human, giving me a screwdriver was a great way to find disassembled appliances (and a somehow-not-electrocuted gradeschooler).
Some things used in water treatment may be more detrimental to plant growth. You can try letting the water sit for a day before using so some things may evaporate out.
