I mean, it's not easy to be a judge. Doing good by making sure the law is applied correctly and fairly is precisely the POINT of them. (Obviously not to these "people")

Agreed. Why do I need my fridge to be able to tell me the weather? Just keep my shit cold.

I sometimes go solo wild camping and I've had a few moments where I've thought "shit, I'm actually in trouble here". My country is small so even in the wilderness you can usually get signal of some sort. But I never called for help, due to a mixture of embarrassment and not wanting to waste time and resources for a problem I created myself. Not including the countless times I've simply gotten lost.

I always got out fine by myself in the end, but I can totally see how people end up in some pretty bad situations or maybe even dying without calling for help.

What? Why? This seems so random and inappropriate.

Yeah I get that. It's kinda funny that they're considered a lower tier because my A Levels were more stressful than ANYTHING in my bachelor's or master's, by far (and they're both in what's considered to be challenging subjects). The actual content of my Law A Level has been the most professionally and personally useful out of any other professional or academic qualification, and condensed into less time.

So I take your point entirely.

I know this isn't the point, but they're not even good jokes? On a technical level. Forget the subject matter for a moment, they're just bad puns that aren't very funny or creative.

Colleges ARE lesser, are they not? They provide a lower level of qualification and are usually attended at a younger age. I've been out of education for a while so happy to be corrected.

No disrespect to the guy individually but "it's not free, it's paid for by taxes" is mentioned every single time when this conversation comes up.

Everybody knows. Nobody actually thinks these these things appear out of thin air. We all know how taxes pay for public services and employment rights.

Travel. I grew up in a working class family in a rich area and I was always jealous of the other kids spending time over the holidays skiing, going to Egypt, Italy, all sorts.

I've ticked off a few countries now but almost all around Europe. I want to see more of the world, just not affordable at this stage in my life.

Well, it's not my personal view but I respect the logic, we certainly are a bit of a disaster as a species.

We have a lot of problems here in the UK but at least most of us think Musk is an idiot. That diver he called a paedophile way back was a point of national pride for us at the time, because he was British.

When I was in the emergency services, I was first or among the first on scene to serious mass casualty events on multiple occasions. The most any of them got in the news was local papers and traffic disruption reports, because unless it's terrorism the nationals aren't interested. If any of us died in a car crash tomorrow, the world wouldn't care.
