Why not both?
Trash take on a few levels. For one, pointing out grotesque inhumanity in both parties does not keep people from voting. If our words had that kind of power, war would be abolished forever ago.

Agreed. What op is feeling may be an awakening from nationalism. Maybe not pleasant, but liberating, I think.
