I am super torn here because pre-back-surgery me looks at these and says "the NERVE of these fuckers" and post-back-surgery me is like "Well that WOULD be nice yes"

Deodorant was first marketed to immigrants and that's how it took hold. People mildly-to-seriously stank for all of human history and it just was, perfumes have always been a market too. But then someone was like "but what if we made these folks feel even more ostracized to sell them a solution"

And this began the "your body is fucking disgusting" cycle that now encourages us to literally coat ourselves head-to-toe in (eczema to cancer causing) chemical deodorants. Great.

"made with real cheese" so it can be 1% real cheese and 99% petrochemicals and the line works.

Same but - I was actually relieved Microsoft finally MADE an RDP client for Mac again. What was wrong with RDP for Mac? It was fine and they axed it. But them replacing RDP everywhere is just hilarious.

I haven't seen a lot, health-wise, that suggests coffee is detrimental. Environmentally it's a harder sell every year with climate change and the number of coffee drinkers still yet to peak, but the economics will counter that soon enough.

Our neighborhood (business association but that's downplayed) hosted their first Pride last year, made attempts at getting actual queer people involved this year, and then announced they were $20k in the hole due to sponsors pulling out. FOR CHRISTS SAKE. Everything about this is wrong. Pride is supposed to be COMMUNITY BASED. When sponsors pull out, we're now having to scale back plans. As a local queer community-building non-profit, I'm having to pay money to this group to have a presence, and they want me to supply volunteers to work the main event... wtf is happening... they've inverted it

Like JD vance, oh wait we've come full circle

Friend of mine is a waiter who says things like “give me that two dollar minimum wage any day with tips.“ Says he makes more than anybody else in the restaurant except the owner. But again, this is skilled labor as you say, I couldn’t just go in and be the same caliber with no experience, he’s been doing this decades.

"The politics of failure have failed."

Additionally he's pissing off the last of the boardroom-class GOP, anyone not affected by the tariffs are now watching him tell the biggest retailer in the world they should cut back on profits, fucking profits man, that's the thing you never cut. This is some super questionable strategy on many levels. Tho the stock market is clearly ready to keep the band playing well into the ship's sinking.
