Usually comms is short for communications, but I think it's fine in context.

They're still considering starting them back up again after pride month.

The big one is W11 now requires a TPM chip, so tons of computers will stop getting updates soon, with no way to upgrade.

And they keep getting worse with a bunch of annoyances, like more ads, trying to force ai, making it harder to avoid a microsoft account, and getting rid of ways to customize the desktop layout.

F-Droid always compiles everything themselves, and runs a bunch of tests on it before releasing anything. It's usually a few extra days for most apps.

It's an interesting project, but NodeBB and Discourse have been working on adding activitypub support, so people who prefer bb style forums will probably use those. I don't think they integrate that well with lemmy yet, but I think it's being worked on.

I like the idea of social bookmarking, but haven't gone through the effort of comparing all the options yet. I do have a list of open source bookmarking projects though:

They're not that active, but theres also !wrzuty@szmer.info, !graffiti@sh.itjust.works, !vangraffiti@lemmings.world (if that counts), and !freights@lemmy.world.

There's lots of activity on the rest of the fediverse under hashtags like #streetart and #graffiti, and accounts like RadicalGraffiti and StreetArtUtopia.

Recycling rates are low, but I wouldn't quite call it a myth. There's a lot of materials that get lumped together as 'plastic', that each have to be handled differently.

Some are relatively non-toxic and easily recycled. More can be, but aren't profitable without incentives. Some are very toxic, and recycling those are difficult. Then there's a lot of rarer types that make it hard to collect and sort. There's also mixed materials, where it's hard to separate the plastic to recycle.

Generally everyone should be minimizing plastics, but check how they're handled locally so you know what's recylable.

Also all the debris burning up on reentry. With starlink they want to have 42k satellites, each designed to only last 5 years. So that'd be about 2 tons of aluminum added to the atmosphere every day.

I want to add that it's not just the idea of equality, it's also an analytical framework and a social movement. Feminism includes ways to understand patriarchal systems, as well as methods of dismantling them.

🤟I like you for who you are.

I rarely use them myself, but I find emojis linguistically fascinating. There's a lot of subtleties with sarcastic, ironic, or symbolic emojis, as well as different subcultures that use them differently.

You might want to check out mbin or piefed. They both handle hashtags better than lemmy, which mostly just ignores hashtags other than the community name.

Those top players represent a mere 0.01% of all bitcoin holders and yet they control 27% of the digital currency, the Wall Street Journal reported. That compares to the old-fashion dollar, where the top 1% controlled 30% of total U.S. household wealth, according to Federal Reserve data.
