You can't keep relying on that. Defenses are too fast/good to keep going to the well. Eventually the QB is going to take that shot. Being able to operate out of the pocket and move the offense is the only way to have long term success as a QB in the NFL.

Also JT is questioning why they aren’t building the offense around the ability of Justin’s Fields running.

I don't agree with this. Can Justin run the ball? Of course! But this is the NFL. You have to develop as a pocket passer who is able to read coverage and anticipate routes. The ability to run is something he can use when it's advantageous -> defense playing man and they have their backs to him.

Why anyone else but Nix? He’s looked pretty good tonight in a big PAC12 game.

I’ve been told the same thing about Maye. You guys can all be right. I’m looking at what Nix is doing now which is impressive. At the very least, if Fields is kept, it drives up the price of the picks.

Don’t sleep on him. He looks like he’s ready. Fields might be the guy, but if he’s not, Nix appears to have the talent and the anticipation. If anything he drives up the price on the picks.

How do we know his potential with this coaching staff? Do we know for sure the offensive staff are able to develop a young quarterback? I'm not giving him a pass, but based on what I have seen of this staff and the top QBs in the draft I don't know if it's wise to move on from him.

If there isn’t a QB they feel is going to be head and shoulders better than Justin, I draft MHJ and trade out of the second first round pick for ‘25. I think part of Justin’s issues are coaching. Not all of it, but he’s not getting the coaching he needs to be confident with his reads. It would be good to see another coaching staff with him and whether or not they can improve his processing time and anticipation.
