I just found out that the latest upgrade of magic earth no longer works in the car, it now requires a subscription. Still works on the phone, but having it in the car display is just better.

So is there an alternative that does what waze/magicearth does that you know of? I'm thinking about the real time traffic and hazards update mostly.

For those unfamiliar, StreetComplete is an "Easy to use OpenStreetMap editor for Android". It shows you nearby 'quests', and you can quickly confirm/deny/update information around you.

This update added the following quest types:

New quests

  • "How many people can sleep here?" asked for wilderness huts etc. (#6442), by @paulklie

  • "Do you have to pay to park here?" asked for motorbike parkings (#6532), by @ElPoraz

Translated:

Currently, we have released a map of the late Edo period (around 1800-1840), and we are updating it every day.

Rutometro is Trufi’s first multi-city app, built on the buses, vans, and collectivos that millions rely on every day.

Using open data, Rutometro serves 8 Mexican cities.

The video is in Spanish, but post has highlights in English.

I'm a frequent contributor to OSM, along with being passionate about individual privacy. Adding Flock cameras to the map has become a new hyperfixation for me. The best part is that when tagged correctly, they appear on deflock.me along with OSM. It's a simple way to help your community know when they're around these dystopian ALPR cameras. Deflock also has an app, although I cannot attest for it - I believe that it dumps the data into OSM too, so it may be better suited for those without OSM experience.

Here's the location I'm talking about.

Screenshot in CyclOSM:

From what I can tell, the missing section was added 6 days ago in changeset 173999775. But weirdly, some of the parts that are showing up (basically, everything west of the missing part) were also added in that same changeset, so it's not a matter of the map not being updated with the latest data.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
