We learn something new every day. This is a community dedicated to informing each other and helping to spread knowledge.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must begin with TIL. Linking to a source of info is optional, but highly recommended as it helps to spark discussion.

** Posts must be about an actual fact that you have learned, but it doesn't matter if you learned it today. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.**

Rule 2- Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding non-TIL posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-TIL posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

For further explanation, clarification and feedback about this rule, you may follow this link.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Unless included in our Whitelist for Bots, your bot will not be allowed to participate in this community. To have your bot whitelisted, please contact the moderators for a short review.

I wonder if this pill would've made Dick larger or made him small.

It probably would have helped. Honestly, someone needs to get all of the world leaders tripping balls in one place. I, for one, would welcome a shaman-led society.

[–] Toldry@lemmy.world 5 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Aztecs tripped balls and sacrificed humans

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 1 points 22 hours ago

I can think of a few sacrifices.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 105 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Most of them would probably just turn into Joe Rogan. Not all psychonauts become wise.

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 29 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

So not a big difference? Still worth a shot.

[–] mx_smith@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Yes or Elon Musk with his K-hole tripping ass

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 1 points 1 day ago

Especially when you dose them without their knowledge.

[–] insaneinthemembrane@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Non consensual tripping can be a nightmare, it's not the way to go.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Can confirm. Someone put several hits in my beer when I was twenty. I did not enjoy it. I did in fact start violently questioning everyone who was there about it for the next few months. To the point everyone who was there was tired of my asking about it. Due to my persistence I finally found out who did it I showed them how much I appreciated it several times. The idiot told his dad about it and he came to straighten me out. I weighed 200 pounds with no fat. I worked slinging scrap iron all day. It did not go dads way. He called the cops and stupidly admitted why he came to my house. Cops cited him and soon his asshole son was not in town anymore.

To this day I wont drink from a container that has left my sight. One of the first things I taught my daughter when she was old enough was how not to get roofied. She in turn passed on that knowledge when she went to college and became a RA. It prevented a young lady from getting assaulted when some of those young women noticed one of their peers who did not get the message acting way out of character.

All drinks that leave sight are dead. Rip drinks. A lesson I was also taught by did not have to learn the hard way yet. Because they're dead the second they leave my sight.

Especially on 5 times a normal dose. ESPECIALLY especially for a guy with a nuclear launch button in reach.

[–] Skankhunt420@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago

I wish more people understood this. I hate people that don't respect the right of other people to choose with their own free will.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

and can trigger psychosis.

Hippy assholes used to try and dose police horses.

[–] Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Lol, yeah, that's a great point.

[–] HurlingDurling@lemmy.world 42 points 1 day ago

After reading the amount of drugs Musk was on and how he wanted to drive the US Government, I'm not entirely convinced that may be a good idea.

[–] xxce2AAb@feddit.dk 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Either it would have inspired some much needed self-awareness, empathy and consciousness of guilt, or... It would have driven him to fervently implement his 12 hour long Boschian hell-vision.

[–] crazycraw@crazypeople.online 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

the man tried biting off medicine bottle caps because he couldn't figure out the child proof caps.

but yeah empathy. self awareness. that's what I think of when I think Nixon. lol

[–] xxce2AAb@feddit.dk 30 points 1 day ago

that’s what I think of when I think Nixon.

Well, no. But that was rather my point: As helpful as I think infrequent responsible use of hallucinogens can be for those already given to self-reflection, when a person who've spent their entire life dodging their moral obligations and rationalizing away their doubts is suddenly confronted with exactly who and what they are and left with no way out, the results are not often beneficial.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If we're putting them all in the same place I'd rather see what happens if we give them bath salts.

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 2 points 23 hours ago

With weapons. With the added condition of winner takes all the losers wealth.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Wouldn't that be wild in the streets?

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Ali G got all of the British politicians in a room, spiked the tea with Mary Jane, and got them all talking. They ended up solving world hunger, poverty, or something else.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Oh yeah, totally mixed that up lol. The point still stands; let’s get some motherfuckers faded ☺️

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 11 points 1 day ago

I had to look it up because I wouldn't put that past Sacha.

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Another comment claims that's 4-12 times a normal dose, so I can't imagine it'd go over very well
