1. Follow the site-wide rules
- Instance-wide TOS: https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
- Lemmy code of conduct: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/code_of_conduct.html
2. Be civil
- Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
- Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
- Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
- Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
- Bigotry will not be tolerated.
3. Post Linux-related content
- Including Unix and BSD.
- Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of
sudoin Windows. - No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
- Don't come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
4. No recent reposts
- Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, <loves/tolerates/hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
5. π¬π§ Language/ΡΠ·ΡΠΊ/Sprache
- This is primarily an English-speaking community. π¬π§π¦πΊπΊπΈ
- Comments written in other languages are allowed.
- The substance of a post should be comprehensible for people who only speak English.
- Titles and post bodies written in other languages will be allowed, but only as long as the above rule is observed.
6. (NEW!) Regarding public figures
We all have our opinions, and certain public figures can be divisive. Keep in mind that this is a community for memes and light-hearted fun, not for airing grievances or leveling accusations. - Keep discussions polite and free of disparagement.
- We are never in possession of all of the facts. Defamatory comments will not be tolerated.
- Discussions that get too heated will be locked and offending comments removed. Β
Please report posts and comments that break these rules!
Important: never execute code or follow advice that you don't understand or can't verify, especially here. The word of the day is credibility. This is a meme community -- even the most helpful comments might just be shitposts that can damage your system. Be aware, be smart, don't remove France.

I love Lemmy. I hate AI posters.
Where AI?
OP has posted AI before. look at their profile, they watermarked this cyanide and happiness ripoff too.
I don't get the point of watermarking AI images. Like, you didn't even make it, why would you be so worried about it being stolen?
AI "artists" are weirdly very protective of their """craft"""
And the fact that watermark is so easy to remove
Can you use AI to do it?
AI users be like:
This is how all artists behave.. Very protective of there works and f*** whatever they borrowed in making it..
think Minecraft modders they can mod Minecraft but oh the drama if you mod their mod.. Maybe there is just a line the big frnchise is no longer protected.. But this is not how people debate this issue.
This is how many commercial artists behave.
FTFY
What exactly leads you to feeling justified in posting such a sweeping generalizing comment?
Not to mention that it was generated based on stolen content. The irony.
Do y'all think Cy&H's contribution to the arts is giving their stick figures colored shirts? Because this does not resemble that in any other way. The composition is not how Cy&H does framing, closeups, or group shots. The faces don't match any of Cy&H's several distinct artists in terms of shape or position. The body shape is closer to Buttersafe's stick figures, or at a stretch, The Oatmeal.
When your whole thing is that everyone's hand-made artwork is distinct in a way that AI never ever could be, That's deeply undercut by treating every kind of stick figure like it's ripping someone off.
The point was not that it is specifically c&h. The point is that it's environmentally unfriendly, rapist-ceo mindset, job stealing, RAM price inflating, bubble making AI slop.
And since we want to go there, OP could've drawn this themselves. On paper with pencil, on canvas with paint, digitally with krita. Made their own stick figures.
They did not. They asked Copilot to make it and wasted at least 16oz of fresh water if not more in the process
Moving goalposts is bad faith. Don't scoff that something is a ripoff and then also scoff 'that's not the point.' Then why did you write it?
Reaching for other generic complaints is not an excuse. Especially when some are just wrong - does your PC consume two bottles of water, to spin the fans for one minute? Because that's about the impact of running these models. Training is energy-intensive, but once it's done, it's done.
The patterns of denialism are dangerous no matter what they're for or against. What you're doing right now is not sincere argument. You're shuffling cards. In the face of specific criticism for the topic you chose, you have literally nothing to say, yet the conclusion doubles down. This is the behavior I've dealt with from creationists and worse, and it is alarmingly common in people shitting on generative AI. There's no shortage of actual shit to talk, on this subject - but you will never separate actual damning criticism from empty ingroup signalling, if any questions see you circle the wagons and open fire.
I didnt move shit buddy. I stated an opinion the first time, and a longer opinion the second time. Go back to Reddit if you want to spread literal misinformation and propaganda.
Shuffle shuffle.
There's a few tell tale signs but look at the USB ports on the laptop.
Also the weird facial expressions that don't really match the vibe. Why is he smiling when seeing the list of distro? Why is he quivering in fear when asking how many there are? Why is he suddenly fine when picking one?
Weird expression you say?
At this point you're just nitpicking
Ah, I see.
Glad Iβm not the only one that thought this was an AI comic.
EDIT: and had that thought confirmed.
Thought? This IS an AI comic.
Wasnβt trying to imply it wasnβt. My bad.
It's okay, I'm the one who misunderstood ya, I'm the one who should apologize.
doesn't seem like AI, what makes you think so?
Some of them you need to open the image in a new tab/full-screen it to see.
The ports on the laptop are different in each image.
The resolution of the ports is much, much higher than other parts of the image.
The image has a bunch of fake compression artifacts.
One character in the second panel has an eyebrow, the others don't. The line-weight on the eyebrow doesn't match the rest of the comic. That character has its mouth open, but the speech bubble isn't connected.
I see
I've seen enough AI generated media to know when one is AI.
