    • Addendum: Yes we know that you think ml/hexbear/grad are tankies and or .world are a bunch of liberals but it gets old quickly. Try and come up with new material.

Does this mean I have to go through blocking 9348934 communities by hand again?

[–] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Just block the instance, it gets rid of all the communities, but not users yet.

... you can't block instances unless you're self-hosting, though?

[–] Redacted@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

If you use the connect app you can block instances, and all messages from people on that instance. You can still read them if you choose to, but i usually scroll past

Check settings/blocks

You couldn't, but you have been able to for the past several months.

Just remove the checkmark on "Show NSFW content" in your settings.

[–] moopet@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

I don't mind NSFW content - after all, it's a broad category - I just don't want a firehose of porn and gore. Some days that's all that's in my feed, and I have to open each one in turn to block the community.

I think they mean as a self-hosting admin

[–] Vile_port_aloo@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

I think they also really enjoy skimming through soo many communities ; )

As a self-hosting admin, they can just defederate the instance.
Also, they aren't the admin of their home instance.

[–] moopet@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

I'm not self-hosting.
