In case you had any doubt what this whole Iran affair is really about...

[–] aaa999@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

nooooo thats anti semitism nooooooo im the adl take me seriously nooooooo

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 59 points 2 days ago (6 children)

When the United States fakes an attack on US soil by Iran, Trump will be able to declare martial law without pushback. Once he has that kind of control he will destroy the Epstein files permanently. He will also never give up martial law and will become a dictator that will pass on to other dictators for the next hundred years. This is the future of the United States of America unless the man is taken care of.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 0 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Nah, he'll just run as VP and have Baron Trump run for president and have the special forces do any rigging needed. Fascism in America is disappointing on so many levels.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If that happens palantir will have ice come and collect dissidents and we will be enslaved and killed in core civic concentration camps

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 4 points 1 day ago

Gonna happen like that if we don’t.

[–] SpruceBringsteen@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The worst of it is already gone if I had to guess. When the FBI got hacked it lost 100TB of data relating to the investigation. 100TB ain't gonna be emails, that's media.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 1 points 19 hours ago

With that many terrabytes there has to be video.

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 25 points 2 days ago

People don’t lose data from being hacked. The FBI has backups of backups. Even I can’t “lose a file” if I tried because everything I do has very basic consumer level backups. If they “lost” something, it was destroyed internally… and even still there’s probably a copy.

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 days ago (2 children)

That's why it is important to make everyone you know expect it. If enough people don't get fooled, then this won't work.

I'm actually worried about 4th of July. Fascists love dates and numbers and it is 250 anniversary of US.

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

He might rename it "Fourth of Trumply"

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 0 points 2 days ago

I dunno. Trump doesn’t give a shit about historic dates. My bet is October. If you’re not out of the country by then, you’re never getting out.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (3 children)

Ten bucks says he declares Marshal Law instead.

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I’m not taking that bet. I don’t like to lose money hahahah.

My guess is he does it in October before the midterms so he can hassle voters or cancel elections.

With the USPS timestamps, SAVE act, etc there’s just no way the election is going to be fair.

The USA is dead. The fall of the USSR is going to look like utopia.

Party for one!

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

Oh geez, yes I lost the tread. As you were.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

That is the joke.

[–] IcePee@lemmy.beru.co 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not saying he wouldn't, but isn't Marshal Law part of the insurrection act? In any case, a foreign attack on a nation shouldn't be justification enough for an action of internal oppression. Again, I'm talking about a rational administration, here, not an autocratic dictatorship.

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The United States government knew about Pearl Harbor, and they let it happen to get Into World War II. This led to Japanese internment camps inside the United States, which I would argue Is internal oppression. There is good evidence, that you can go find yourself, that The United States let 9/11 happen. This led to the patriot act, and an entire war.

Martial law is not part of the insurrection act. That is a different thing, with similar talking points.

Declaring martial law or using anything in the insurrection act to take over the local governments would not be marketed as oppression. And if no one says oppression, then it can’t be oppression (According to the government).

I think that if Donald Trump is willing to bypass Congress to go to war, he’s willing to break any rule in the book. The rules no longer apply and the only reason he hasn’t tried to take over local governments is because no one is standing up to him yet. He gets away with everything. He may be a few cards short of a full deck, but he’s not dumb. He knows if you don’t have a problem, don’t make one. The United States citizens are not a problem for him.

[–] Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Had me until

but he’s not dumb.

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If he’s dumb, then he’s just really really Lucky.

[–] Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It’s called being born into wealth.

You just get good at using your wealth to avoid accountability. It doesn’t take intelligence to not pay contractors cause you keep getting away with it your whole life.

There is strong evidence that he basically got saved by Russian money.

So yes, being so lucky to be born into wealth and also sociopathic enough to do whatever it takes like betraying your own country.

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Being intelligent and being not dumb are not the same thing.

He knows he doesn’t need to roll tanks down Main Street USA, because people in the USA refuse to stand up to the government in any meaningful way.

[–] Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I guess we have different definitions of dumb.

Like there are reports that he was the dumbest student in many classes.

Remember the basic “intelligence” test he took and he kept bragging about the results?

[–] outofthisworld@lemmy.org 1 points 2 days ago

Book smarts and street smarts and the money to pay people to fix shit.

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 days ago

I don't think this is even true. It is more that media (owned by the same elites) can temporarily escape to Iran so they report it.

Meanwhile the records about victim's interview that they were hiding were released and they look quite bad.

Also Operation Energy Fluffer, the saviour of Russia's war budget.

[–] IcePee@lemmy.beru.co 6 points 2 days ago

It could just be an added benefit...

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

It's about Netty-bo yanking on Trump's leash.

this isn't our war. it's Netanyahu's. (and maybe the Saudis, too.)
