You all fucktards voted for the dude. Now suffer the consequences. Better you than us.
Regards, The rest of the world.
You’d fit right in with maga with logic like that.
yeah it is kinda funny that the responses like this do sound exactly like maga folk.
It reminds me of when COVID hit
And some of my most liberal friends were dead ass saying shit like "if these people keep coming to our state and not masking up we need to build a fucking wall or something."
... 😐
Other than the fucktards part what exactly is Maga'ish in that comment?
Did the us not have a vote?
Should only other countries suffer the consequences of that vote, and the us population should be exempt from the actions of that vote? (or their inactions of them not voting/protest voting)
The above comment was coarse, I agree. But it wasn't incorrect in my view.
Edit: yanks always trying to blame others for their fucking bullshit.
Some of the US had a vote. Voter suppression tactics is pretty much how Trump eked out his 2nd “victory.” We had election interference: closing down poll stations in areas with low income people more likely to vote democratic, forcing them out of the election process through economic pressure. Passing rules that basically ensured you couldn’t vote unless you could take the whole day off and and be well fed for it (since people providing people water in line now broke the rules), long lines meant polls closed before everyone got to vote on Election Day, casting doubt on the integrity of the election and vote by mail system (which he’s still doing), making quid-pro-quo threats and demands for states to “find” votes, people finding their voter registrations mysteriously removed or changed, forcing them to reregister and possibly miss their chance to vote, rampant gerrymandering so democratic districts where divvied into majority Republican districts. Then there was foreign interference on social media, social manipulation experimentation from social media conglomerates like meta, domestic spying, met a new generation of e-propaganda… Trust me, most Americans know what he is and despise him. Real Americans are the people who brought you Friends and How I Met Your Mother. We believe in liberty and civil rights. We’re proud of our kinship with our historic allies, and now many of us ashamed to even admit we’re American when abroad. I lived in Malta for four years, and I was constantly referred to as “one of the good ones” because I wasn’t shy about my opinions on Trump. The more I ponder on this the longer this part of my response gets so I’ll leave it here.
Nobody’s saying other countries should suffer consequences of US elections, it’s just an unfortunate circumstance of US global dominance. I believe other counties are doing the smart thing by reducing their reliance on US corporations and embracing more open-source alternatives. And anyone saying that Americans should be exempt from those consequences is irrelevant, because the fact of the matter is that Americans ARE suffering the consequences. People are getting brutalized and murdered by ICE in illegal raids, protesters are getting cataloged on ICE devices… which could be convenient for more voter suppression measures by the Trump regime.
So let’s revisit the original question. What is maga’ish in that comment?
It is dismissive, judgmental and standoffish. It is vengeful. It lacks understanding of cultural and historical context. It is narrow minded. It stereotypes all Americans into a singular group of voter. It encourages others to hate Americans.
And finally, you’re not doing yourself any favors with the “yanks always…” crash out comment. This is precisely the kind of sentiment you’d expect a mag-hat would have if you just replace “yank” with the n word or some other derogatory term.
Does this make sense?
You fundamentally misunderstandUnited States politics if you think Trump is responsible for making any important decisions. He is a combination between a scapegoat and a front man.
If we had elected anyone else, the present international policies would be largely the same. It's the beauty of a two party system that is financed by corporate lobbying.
The kind of people that hold a grudge against a citizenry for its politicians are the exact kind of smooth-brain shit stains that create these messes.
You're literally running propaganda for fascism in your post
Hope you're proud.
Tagged as "loves fascism"
Edit: wow that didn't go well for you, huh? Anyways your responses from here show you're clearly proud. Like a good little fascist.
In a place where elections don’t happen, or are obviously rigged? Sure, mostly agree. In the US, though, tens upon tens of millions of people gleefully, zealousy voted for Trump. When Biden was in the primaries with Bernie lots of the supposed “left” voted for Biden even before the DNC really got fucky with it.
US citizens really need to understand that it’s not enough to be acting like stupid, scared little babies who can’t be held accountable because they had a surprising amount of control over the situation for decades and yet still let this happen mostly voluntarily. As a Canadian who has always voted progressive, it’s the same situation here, arguably worse in some ways because we’ve even had a viable third party option the whole time. Our two countries are embarrassing, and acting like a dude saying “not all men” whenever someone expresses anger over our collective actions doesn’t help anyone.
I’m sure all those Palestinian/Iranian/Lebanese people killed by US/Israeli strikes, with unconditional help from Canadian resources, would really love to hear how it wasn’t your fault, specifically.
there is a far left that goes so far it ends up helping the right. Much of the issue was non voting as well as the trumpholes voting for facism.
Why didn’t those people vote? It wasn’t because Harris was a progressive and they thought she wasn’t progressive enough, it was because she was already just a corpo centrist and refusing to acknowledge the genocide in Gaza was the nail in the coffin. All she had to do was say the truth and she refused.
And then she fucked off immediately, leaving everyone else to the GOP because actually caring isn’t her style.
yup and so we got trump and the gendocide in gaza has never been better. the palestinians rejoiced at the comfort brought by their friends in the us.
Sure, I don’t disagree with that and I probably would have voted if I were in the US. At some point, though, it’s not the fault of people who refuse to vote for the controlled opposition. They’re sick of the cycle, sick of this “strategic” voting crap, and sick of lending their voices to the validation of major human rights violations. I really cannot blame them for their decision.
The US clinging to false, centrist comfort instead of doing the uncomfortable thing to get shit done is a big reason why they’re in this mess.
if america was centerist that would be great but its not where we are at. The anti centerist prefer extreme right.
The US is a fascist country with the only opposition being “centrism”. Centrism is a relativistic political ideology which really only exists to provide an incredibly weak alternative to conservatism that doesn’t immediately scare voters with things like actually doing anything different and of value.
the us has been allowed to become more facist by folks ok with it. either actively or passively. conservatism is fine if we are talking teddy roosevelt and other pre nixon when its true to its ideals. its not conservative vs liberal its facist vs democracy.
Do you understand where conservatism came from? Are you familiar with what it’s trying to conserve? It’s cultural stagnation in favour of the privileged class with an economic approach to match.
i gave you historical figures. like most philosphies it has some merit but does not work in total. I mean like even communism has good points. you see this with all philosophies which is why balancing them is what makes a good society or in another word centerism that is properly balanced.
Centrism is not “balanced”, though, it is just a political ideology that can’t commit. The left says people need to have equal rights, the right says society needs to be segregated in one form or another, and the centre comes along and says “what if we just took away some rights?”
This, of course, generally leads to them spending all the momey the left would but on terrible investments. In most places on the planet “the left” isn’t that extreme if you look at them from an objective point of view, they just get treated as extreme because the right goes off the deep end and the center is there saying “our position is reasonable and therefore anything else must be extreme!” while completely ignoring the fact that almost all centrism is simply right-wing economic policy without as much of the overt homophobia and racism. I have to say overtly, ecause of course actually helping minority groups would constitute an extreme action so im most cases they just don’t do anything and call it a win.
There’s a reason MLK said that the greatest enemy to black people is the white moderate. There’s a reason Canada is struggling under the Liberal party. There’s a reason so many places are just slowly descending into fascism as their governments do very little to stop it because of a naive sense of decorum and a strong unwillingness to ever admit that maybe holding the line isn’t working anymore.
There you go running propaganda for fascists again.
This guy fucking loves telling people fighting for democracy that there is no hope. Just like any good fascist propagandist.
Fuck outta here.
In what way? “Just give in to the endless cycle of the right getting worse and the center-right doing nothing to fix it” is your plan for a better tomorrow? Sure thing bud, that’ll definitely work this time!
Yep. Obvious fascist propagandist is obvious.
Go ahead and get the last word. You know you need it. Like Steven Miller about to pop a blood vessel in hisnforehead. You need it. Fascist.
You haven’t explained it your position, you’ve just called the guy who votes strictly progressive a fascist which is, frankly, absurd.
But sure, keep telling everyone that the solution is to keep enabling the ratchet effect, that’s totally not going to help the far-right. You got this, champ.
This is likely to highly impact the people who did not vote for him. Including those of us who actively campaigned against him and have been taking action against him since he was elected.
