Wait, are we sure hes not making fun of the purchaser? Like, "You obviously dont need a roommate to lower expenses if you can afford a robot that makes your bed"? Thus killing the argument?

Am i missing something here? To me, this reads "people lazy, thats why poor" not "roommates exist as glorified trad wives"?

Yeah I think that's what he has to be saying and just worded it poorly. The only way any of this makes any bit of sense is if he's saying "If you have enough money to have your own personal robot, then you probably aren't so broke that you need a roommate to cover half the rent."
