In 35 games, Justin Fields has 27 INTs and 35 fumbles. In the past two seasons, he's finished 30th and 32nd in passing yards per game.
Right now we have the 1st overall pick and there are 2 elite prospects at the QB position.
There is a 0% chance the Bears decide to build around Justin Fields, who's been a bottom 5 passer since entering the league.
It literally makes no sense and at this point the organization is just paying lip service to the idea of brining Fields back. It's not going to happen.
You don't pass on an elite QB prospect 2 years in a row to build around fucking Justin Fields.
Why not pull the stats from his last 17?
Are they really elite prospects, or are the just the two best available this year?
caleb isn't generational, but he's the best prospect since joe burrow. you can't pass on that, especially when the number 1 pick was basically gifted to you through a trade made by a franchise even worse than we are.
Caleb Wiiams is not a better prospect than Trevor Lawrence

And 12000 passing yards with 95 tds, and 1850 rushing yards with 22 rushing tds. Shut the fuck up, this is such a dumb comparison.
It's funny, everybody was talking about how shitty the OL was, then Bagent started. Viola, sacks and pressures dropped considerably.
I'm not claiming the OL was world class, but Fields made them look a lot worse than they actually are.

This is not a thing, at least not this year.
And possibly have to pay $25-30mil a year to the guy you still have questions about. You are also resetting the clock on the contract for another 4 years.
People seem to get hyped based on whatever they saw last game between these two. These conversations should include one huge aspect that the Bears will have at the top of their considerations which is $$$...
Lets say you stick with Fields. Clearly they will decline his 5th year and at best get him to play next year for a $6M cap hit. Then either you have to offer him a lot more or you're back into the situation of "what's the answer at QB?"
If you take Caleb you completely reset the clock and if he works out the possible 5th year option. Looking at Bryce Young's contract for the #1 overall his cap hits are $6.9m this year then $8.6m, $10.3m, and finally $12m.
If Bears are #1 overall the long term cap benefits are absolutely going to come into play.
Bryce also got a 24 million signing bonus

Unfortunately, no list of fumbles for 4th, but when the game is between 0-7 points, Fields has 16 passing TDs, 4 rushing TDs, 9 INT and 15 fumbles.

I'm just curious on who these 2 "Elite" prospects are? Because everything I've seen on Williams, he is far from an elite prospect
Bryce young PFF grade 49.2, Fields 73.8. Rookie Fields was in the 60s. Everyone last year was saying Fields sucks draft Bryce Young! How did that work out. People are expecting Caleb is coming here and with this terrible staff and roster going to light the world on fire like Mahomes or something. Keep dreaming
He has flashes of brilliance but he has a career average of about 165 passing yards per game. That's not NFL football in the year 2023.
