If you're getting paid, it's not a donation

You can't convince me we aren't on some sort of prison planet experiment. The most common theme throughout all of human history is suffering. It doesn't matter where, when, or why, there will always be some degenerate ghouls fucking people over. In this case, the demons that set up the system so that the most vulnerable literally need to give their blood to pay rent. It's fucking disgusting.

So... we are in the Bad Place?

You are correct.

Prove you deserve better; death or being 50% less miserable.

Well, death either way, but hopefully not yours.

Without approving of the American dystopia of paying for plasma donations, can I still say thank you to those that "donate" their plasma so that important medications can be made?

Not if its owned by a corporations. They're slaves; they had no choice. Imagine if George Washington thanked the slaves he took his teeth from.

I have received a somewhat unusual vaccination and my antibodies were valuable to a drug company for a while. They were paying 120$ for plasma for a while and you could go 2x a week. The plasma center, like most, wasn’t in the best neighborhood and the cash was doled out be an ATM like machine when you were finished. Well 120 took a hell of a lot more “kachunks” that 15 did and by the time you got your cash there was a whole room full of pissed off desperate folks staring at you. Not that fun.

I have had to sell plasma to make ends meet in my life and I know what those people must have been feeling watching some kid in nice clothes get paid 10x what they were for the same unpleasant procedure. Fucking rough. I used the money to buy a house. They would be lucky to get a groceries out of the deal

What kind of house did you buy with an extra 240$ a week?

I mean I was able to save almost 15k during that year which was a suitable down payment on a 100k ish house. which wasn’t hard to find in the city I lived in circa 2005. It wasn’t anything to crow about but it beat renting.

Sounds good, can't believe it was almost 20 years ago now.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

What was the vaccination for?

[–] lemmylommy@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Why? This is why:
A tweet of ironmouse asking for plasma donations for her Christmas present. underneath is "Do it for her" meme edited with her faces

I wish I could but I can't.

I used to sell plasma to pay for gas for polyamory. Also for job interviews.

Anyways that’s why I’ve got a track mark on one arm despite being allergic to opiates
