im so ready for vivian drama

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

I can't believe Nintendo fell victim to the woke mafia

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The Vivian situation is ambiguous rn, tho signs may unfortunately be pointing to them going for an unsatisfying vague answer rather than a direct japanese translation with her lore.

an unsatisfying vague answer

Well this would also cause drama, so I'm still ready

But also I think 2020s Nintendo of America is a lot better than the old NoA. They released a very unsubtly queer Splatoon DLC a few months ago and the English version doesn't hide anything at all

Like, if they're willing to do something like this, I have a lot more faith in them to get it right this time

>gamecube game

>30fps

ONLY NINTENDO

[–] Taster_Of_Treats@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

Even if I buy it, I'm still pirating it for 60 fps. Lmao.

[–] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago

Just pirate it on Dolphin, not only will the framerate be higher, you also deny Nintendo your money

Requesting an emote for the pig in the TTYD concept art

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Do we know if it will be any different from the original?

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Oh yeah, watch the trailer! This isn't a mere remaster, they're actually basically remaking the game from the ground up. Redoing the graphics, re-orchestrating the music, retranslating the dialogue, everything!

[–] Taster_Of_Treats@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

Saw a preview review that suggested the battle theme is remixed for different locations, also. And there's a "classic music" badge for zero BP for nostalgia.

This game is so good. Even though I hate like half the chapters. Especially the one Vivian shows up in. Even though she's the best character.

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Ye, chapter 4 has a fantastic atmosphere n stuff, but it's infamous for all it's backtracking

[–] OutrageousHairdo@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I always liked Chapter 4, tbh. The backtracking wasn't that bad, and I felt it was good for the atmosphere.

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh yeah! Overall I still like it (I like the whole game tbf), I just think maybe if they kept it to 2 trips to the steeple instead of 3 it would be less grating. It's that 3rd trip that's a bit much.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wait why are there three trips, it's two fights against Doopliss, and then was finding the letter a third trip to the steeple?

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Yeah.

  1. From town to steeple

  2. From steeple to town

  3. From town to steeple again (to find letter)

  4. Steeple to (almost) town (to confront Doopliss with letter)

  5. From (almost) town to steeple

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

Makes sense, couldn't remember where the middle section takes you.

If you like turn-based RPGs I'd highly recommend it!

I think they're referencing the dumb IGN review from back in the day(at least I think it was IGN, could have been Gamespot)

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

Ohhh okay, if that's the case the reference went over my head

[–] CrackBurger@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

THAT WASSNT MY REFERA CE HELP I WASNT DOINF A BUT I SAID BORE COS BORING 💀😱

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

Oh, here I was thinking I was smart picking up on an old reference lmao

[–] qaopjlll@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Play the original for better framerate

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's a bummer it's capped at 30, but all the changes make up for it imo. Then again I was never a huge framerate person.

[–] SnowySkyes@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

Wait seriously? Damn it all. Seeing 30 fps is like gaming in molasses for me. I can’t stand it. Now regretting selling my old copy earlier in the year. You’d think they could’ve at least kept it at 60 :<

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

Paper Mario didn't have the charm Square Mario RPG did to me. Just not my cup o tea I guess.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

Thank you for reminding me

Ever since I let my brother keep the GameCube when he moved to college, I have been kicking myself

[–] Taster_Of_Treats@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

There will be a 60fps patch for emulators y'all. If you're willing to wait 2 to 3 weeks for ryujinx support.

It's should not be a difficult game to run. It's possible that the latest Yuzu plays it well without further development.
