I have no clue what this is referring to but I assume Sweet Baby Ray's did not in fact send baseball bat-wielding thugs to shake down this game's developers

From what I've gathered through osmosis it's just a consulting firm that advises game companies on how to appeal to a wide audience.
Step 1: Add black person
Step 2: Trigger G*mers
Step 3: ???
Step 4: PROFIT!
They worked on some games that I guess didn't do well and / or didn't give gamers a boner so gamers think they are destroying the video game industry. I think?
are just the groundskepper Willie meme about how everyone, including other gamers have ruined gaming.
They worked with plenty of games that were hugely successful, like Alan wake 2 and BG3. Gamers just cherry-pick the worst examples.
Gamergate 2 is such a terrible sequel.

I still don't know exactly what gamer gate refers to and at this point I'm too afraid to ask
Alt right pipeliners started screaming about ethics in game journalism after some indie game got a better review than they felt it deserved, off of what they claimed was the dev sleeping with the reviewer, and it all coalesced into frothing mad chuds doing hardcore misogyny non-stop, sliding into overt racism and antisemitism as well. The whole thing was orchestrated and paid for by the usual fascist technocrat Peter Thiel types to create more neonazis from young lonely men by claiming the Jews were unboobing all the sexy video game ladies.
Gamer gate 2 is the losers who became influencers off gamer gate claiming that DEI is meant to unsex the video game women and destroy traditional masculinity, and Sweet Baby Inc is at the forefront.
SBI is a consulting agency with like 20 employees that are hired to look at game scripts and so on to advise on issues of cultural sensitivity, because as it turns out white men buy any old slop but you can get more paying customers by appealing to minorities like women and black people so long as you don't spit in their faces. This is also the ultimate manifestation of white genocide somehow
Gamergate was also the trial run for the alt-right and involved many of the same figureheads
Fascist propagandists on the payroll of the Kochs and Mercers told libertine gamers that women and minorities were coming for their precious fun time treats and were going to make them less tasty, which caused their waveforms to spontaneously collapse into fascism with 4chan characteristics.
Apparently someone in China made an (unverified) blog post that Sweet Baby Inc demanded that the developers of a game pay them $7M for consulting. That's the whole story.

According to a reddit comment, apparently. The game's subreddit got so many posts about it the mods made an announcement banning discussion of it.

As far as I'm aware there is no evidence of this at all. Feels like an op tbh.
Even when Sweet Baby is not involved with a game, gamers work themselves up into a rage imagining how terrible it would be if they were. I already saw a thumbnail with female characters from this game ran through some AI filter to make them look more like the lady from Horizon Zero West or whatever its called to demonstrate what Sweet Baby Inc would totally do to the game if they got the chance
Is my reading comprehension just bad or does the title seem to imply that Sweet Baby want to get paid to work for China?
Pretty sure the studio working on Wukong got in hot water over sexist recruitment ads, so they're like the anti-sweet baby
The studio behind Stellar Blade also apparently fired a woman for supporting feminism on Twitter or something. Gamers seem to be currently propping up Asian developers as the last defenders of traditional gamer values. We already know how much they love Japan, and South Korea makes sense but it's funny to see them praising China
