I think you should just embrace it.

Pay no attention to the Lemmy instance I'm posting from.

[–] Mora@pawb.social 11 points 11 months ago

Yeah, Khajit (and Argonian) Lore is really cool!

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 44 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

I play Khajiit because they have night eye

Edit: also I REALLY like cats

[–] PythagreousTitties@lemm.ee 18 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Similar reason I was an Argonian in Morrowind, water breathing.

[–] zero_spelled_with_an_ecks@programming.dev 34 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I played an argonian because they're lusty.

[–] PythagreousTitties@lemm.ee 26 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

That's just what they're maid to do.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 14 points 11 months ago

Polishing spears all day long

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 34 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (3 children)

I play it for the unarmed damage

[–] Batman@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago

I do it to level up jumping. I jump over city walks and I'll jump over your whole character arc, idgaf I'm khajiit

[–] PM_Your_Nudes_Please@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Yup. Combine it with the heavy armor perk which adds your gauntlets’ armor rating to your unarmed attack damage, and you can one-punch dragons.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's only 5 points more. Barely even noticable.

[–] PM_Your_Nudes_Please@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

The Claws bonus is 12 extra points of damage in Skyrim. That’s better than a glass sword, and you’re able to attack much faster. You just completely mop the floor with early enemies.

And by the time you have a good enough weapon to potentially outpace the Claws bonus, you also likely have the Fists of Steel perk (because it only requires 30 Heavy Armor). So you’re better off just improving your gauntlets’ armor rating to boost your unarmed damage, instead of using a weapon.

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Pro tip: only base armor rating matters with that perk, meaning you can't boost it through tempering. Daedric gauntlets have the highest at 18. Additionally, Khajiit actually do 10 damage on top of the 12 damage from their claws as a result of being a "beast" race. Therefore, they do 22 damage at the start and at most 40 with the perk. Without exploits or mods, you can boost damage by 86 points through enchantments for 126 damage total.

I play Breton because they're objectively broken as mages. It has nothing to do with how I might or might not feel about their height.

[–] Impound4017@sh.itjust.works 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Breton atronach mage, my goat 🙌🏻

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 5 points 11 months ago

Ah, a fellow broke ass build player 🫡

[–] PythagreousTitties@lemm.ee 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Why do you hate wood elves?

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 15 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Why should I feel any different about knife-eared cannibals?

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 9 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (2 children)

I mean, really, just because they have none of the rich ancestry of the Bosmer and none of the cultural and political power of the Altmer it doesn't mean I look down on the Namira-worshipping tree fuckers.

[–] fushuan@lemm.ee 8 points 11 months ago

Wood elves ARE bosmer (bosque(forest)-mer), did you mean dunmer? (Dune-mer), dark elves.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

Don't kink shame. We've all had those thoughts about spriggans.

I have a t-shirt depicting Inigo from the famous Skyrim mod that I love, and I often think people probably assume that I'm a furry

Nothing wrong with furries though

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 12 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

I play Argonian for that sweet, sweet poison resistance and ability to breathe underwater. But also because I'm a furry.

[–] ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I see you too are a fan of the Lusty Argonian maid.

OwO what's this?

I'm not sorry

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 11 months ago

I only played Altmer or Argonian through all of my TES games. I feel like I should give it a revisit and get my kitty on.

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Username/instance checks out.

[–] PythagreousTitties@lemm.ee 6 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (7 children)

I don't consider khajjit players as furries. As a gameplay race they're pretty cool if you like their strengths.

People that sexualize animals on the other hand... Furries are into beastiality. And that is fucking crazy shit.

(I knew a couple people would chime in defending the cartoon beastiality. Sorry guys, an animal is an animal, and you are sexualizimg them. )

[–] SuspiciousCatThing@pawb.social 37 points 11 months ago

I was with you for the first half. And I also agree that people who sexualize animals are horrible. As do 99% of furries. But then, I'd say that 99% of the population in general is against it.

The furry community takes strong stance overall against sexualizing and abusing animals. I've never personally seen a circle or group where it's tolerated. Not to say that it doesn't exist anywhere, but just that it's not something you're likely to find without looking for it.

[–] 5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 11 months ago

Furry anthropomorphise animals, they make models based on animals and bestiality among furries isn't elevated compared to the general population. It says more about you and the general population that they equate furries with something about sex.

Beastiality sucks.

[–] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 24 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (20 children)

Furries are into bestiality.

when will this fucking stereotype DIE

Furries actively denounce sex with actual, real-life animals. Being into that is called zoophilia and if anyone in the furry fandom is caught even thinking about it, we kick them out faster than you can blink.

The best description I ever got of furries was that it's astrology for sex. The fursona is their sign. I've found it to be a good rough estimation.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 8 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Do you suppose different fursona species have better and worse relation with one another, like astrology signs? That'd be funny and awesome at the same time

[–] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 14 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Not that I'm aware of, but there are plenty of species stereotype memes. For an example:

I've never heard it put that way before, but it's an interesting observation. A lot of animals are culturally associated with personality traits (e.g. clever foxes, loyal dogs, proud lions) and furries usually choose a species they relate to, so it creates a system where people tend to self-sort into various tribes based on values and personality type. Look at any decently popular species and you'll likely find that most of the people repping it share a common set of traits.

[–] HatchetHaro@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 11 months ago (3 children)

That is a misconception. The term you're looking for is "zoophile", and are not the same thing as furries.

Non-furry here to say that I really don't care, it's just drawings.

[–] Arbiter@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What about enjoyers of The Real Barenziah?
