Woah there, Mr Deep! I see the way you are eye-banging that cephalopod.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 34 points 1 year ago (2 children)

yeah but how many ceremonial buttplugs did they have? not just day to day buttplugs, I'm talking formal occasion ones.

[–] iii@mander.xyz 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Could they sync it to the baseline of katy perry's roar?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 31 points 1 year ago (3 children)

On the other hand, they didn't have Fallout New Vegas and had to contend with the REAL Caesar's legions, so I say we still win.

[–] jagot@programming.dev 20 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Julius Cæsar lived during the Iron Age.

[–] RQG@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Both sound pretty metal.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Eh, close enough 🤷😉

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Bronze age

Julius Caesar

lol

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Fun fact: Julius Caesar wasn't the only Caesar by a long shot.

Additional fun fact: It was super late here when my brain farted that out 😄

[–] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But they also don't have starfield

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Eh, Starfield isn't actually that bad. It isn't very good either, though, just mediocre.

Which would have been totally fine for an indie or a niche game from a major developer.

5 or 6/10 is worth playing for sure. It's just not worth paying AAA money or "this is going to be the best thing ever" style hype..

I have half a kilo of cinnamon.

[–] prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

I have ice, on demand, and hot water, flushing toilets, magic boxes that entertain me.

I’d fucking give it all for an octopus vase….

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I accidentally spilled about a tablespoon of peppercorns on the floor and could hear my ancestors screaming in horror as I swept them up and threw them away.

[–] watersnipje@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But what do you store it in? A vase with an octopus on it?

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

A chest with a millipede motif

[–] watersnipje@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Ok well that’s more than acceptable.

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

I have an electron rubiks cube

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 20 points 1 year ago (2 children)

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Also correct. Octopii, too

Words in English that end in "-us" and pluralize to "-i" are from Latin, such as cactus/cacti or focus/foci. However, "octopus" is from Greek, and its correct pluralization from Greek would be "octopodes." In English, we have also adopted "octopuses," which fits our standard pluralization rules.

So, "octopi" is actually a language mix up, though one that's so common that it seems to be accepted in English.

[–] DrDystopia@lemy.lol 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Now I wonder how Octopie tastes like. It's probably related to seafood pizza. 🫠

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

IMO it's tragic to eat such an intelligent creature. Maybe stick to these guys...? Mmmm.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Seafood, eat it

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You do want to keep octopuses in jars because they're dicks who fuck up the ocean for the rest of us.

And don't get me started on those fucking cuttlefish.

[–] prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Blatant squid propaganda.

You don’t see me out here disparaging Hares or even jackrabbits do you?

Be better.

half breed abomination of nature and ought not be allowed to compete in our sports IMO, but only because they dope so heavily

There’s a reason they’re fast as fast can be … cocaine

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I've had that, yes. Also dental care

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Do octopodes even have teeth?

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Some of them (maybe all? Idk) have a venomous beak. So. There's that. :|

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 6 points 1 year ago

There is our chance to surpass them!

[–] Rutty@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

I have plastic vases that can have them on them. Should take 3 days total
