Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

But it plays a cute little jingle when it finishes. 😒

That you can't turn off! Fucking hate it!

[–] NaturalViber@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I just googled that. You can turn it off by pressing simultaneous buttons.

How to start your washing machine:

  1. Feed it with honey for the bees inside.
  2. Pet it until it purr.
  3. ...

Cat ate sock.

[–] answersplease77@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

the washing mashine comes with one alive fly and cat inside

Purr like a kitty cat, buzz like a bee.

That's how it sounds when I'm drying laundry.

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 33 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Lol, that noise cats make when they stretch is oddly specific and I doubt any non cat/pet owners would actually know what that sounds like. Thankfully there's subtitles!

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think that means purring...

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Why they spell it brrr though? I’m guessing this is not an English manual?

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

How else would you write the sound of purring?

Leaving the cat like the bee could make someone naive believe the (I assume) pump sounds like a meow ;D

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 27 points 3 months ago

Its nice to to know some places are trying on the manuals. I miss the ones from years ago which told you how to maintain the appliance. Even like things as simple as a fan.

[–] Sparky@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 3 months ago

Whoa that's a super nice way of telling the user how different parts of the drier should sound. A+++ for this execution. I can see that they take right to repair pretty seriously (at least for diagnostics)

[–] Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world 15 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Washing machine cat go brrrr?

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago
[–] OwlPaste@lemmy.world 15 points 3 months ago

that is actually duper useful!

[–] SapphironZA@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 months ago

If my cat purred as loud as my dishwasher, I would be concerned I own a tiger.

[–] CompostMaterial@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Looks like an Army field manual. I would have said Marines, but there isn't any color crayon marks.

[–] Fermion@feddit.nl 5 points 3 months ago

There's no crayon marks because they already ate them all.

My Ikea fridge has this info as well!

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I recently repaired an Ikea dishwasher. Turned out it was a Whirlpool-built unit. Decent one, at that.

[–] Thavron@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah you can deduce what's under the hood from who you have to call when it breaks lol. I believe when needed to call Whirlpool for the dishwasher and the induction plate and Electrolux for the fridge. Mind you that all three appliances broke in the 4 years we've had the kitchen. The induction plate, twice.

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Yikes! The latest generation of whirlpool products seem to be at a new low in terms of quality and reliability. I have no experience with induction plates/ranges yet, though it sounds like I'll be getting plenty of calls on them when they become more popular around here!

[–] Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 months ago

Not a bad idea.

New-to-you equipment can make all sorts of concerning sounds that make you question your choices. Having some idea of what to expect is kinda nice.
