I've already got plenty of political content that I often listen to, so right now I'm just looking for stupid laughs. Any suggestions?
ah, shit, never mind. well, good luck with that
Podcast recommendations, episode discussions, and struggle sessions about which shows need to be cancelled.
Rest In Power, Michael Brooks.

Episode 1 (or E1) is a silly, absurd improv comedy podcast, where (almost) every episode is the first episode of a failed podcast. The podcast is definitely adjacent to the left-wing podcast space, with plenty of cross-overs between Chapo, Pod About List and others. I wouldn't call it explicitly left wing, although you definitely have pro-labor episodes like the "Amazon Fulfillment Center Ambassadorcast" and anti-cop episodes like "Two Weeks Paid Leave."
You can start basically anywhere. My favorite episodes are "The CostCo Town Hall with Joe Biden", "Crown of Mist: The Final Day of Princess Diana" and "Uncle's Houseboat."
Trillbilly Workers Party is political at times but they do a lot of dicking around as well. Maybe it's because I grew up in the south and moved away, but I really love their sense of humor and perspective
I'm not southern but I grew up rural and sometimes Trillbillies make me laugh so fucking hard because I totally relate. Tom is funny as hell.
Tom is funny as hell.
(Tom voice) "Oh 100 percent"
That Kentucky drawl is
I think The Worst of All Possible Worlds is very funny. They often talk about incredibly weird media and I always have a fun time listening to them.
My Dad Wrote a Porno is seriously funny, and stays funny throughout all seasons.
This is the only clip of it on youtube as far as I know. They're aggressively silly and funny.
edit: there's also Doughboys, which is ostensibly a podcast about food chains. They're always solid.
Dough Boys and YKS takes like 20 minutes for the actual episode to begin. The lead up is just a bunch of talking and improv lol
You gotta give them time to get all the cum talk out before they start
I heard a couple of episodes a while ago but kinda forgot about them, thanks! Both Demi and Tom were recently on Boonta Vista and they were funny guests
Seconding this. I find myself laughing very hard every episode and I'm not usually a person who laughs out loud while listening to comedy alone
I periodically get the "self suck roundup" and "head got stuck" themes popping into my head and I really ought to pull them from episodes and put them up on youtube so everyone can enjoy them
My Brother, My Brother, and Me is generally pretty good. There are some classic bits in response to Yahoo! Answers questions in there, e.g.:
I showed my ex chapo once on a long long drive and they described chapo as "dark MBMBAM" lol
The Dollop gets political at times but can be pretty funny.
I like The Dollop but I find that their humor is a bit hit and miss for me. Sometimes the bits go a bit too long and Gareth's funny annoying voices can get too annoying
Fair enough.
Favorite episodes are Cocaine Pirates and Loomis Heist
Pendejo Time.
And that hamlet made out of semen.
Small Town Murder is pretty funny if you like true crime. Its not as fucked up as that sounds
If somebody likes trueanon would you recommend it?
Maybe? Its lower stakes and not really leftist, its just two comedians making fun of shitty small towns but some of the murders they describe are really wild. They don't make fun of the murders themselves or the victims, I dunno, give it a try
Cool, the reason I asked was trueanon is the most true crime adjacent thing in familiar with.
I’ll give it a shot, small town stuff is always interesting.
You already listen to the three i recommend right away, maybe Stop Podcasting Yourself, Out For Smokes, Bein’ Ian with Jordan and The Adam Friedland Show the podcast.
SPY is two Canadaland guys, Graham and Dave, they have like 700 episodes at this point so a helluva backlog to crack into. Out For Smokes is Mike Recine, Shawn Mccarthy and another guy whom i cant remember. Its some comedy, some politics.
Bein Ian with Jordan is Ian Fidance and Jordan Jensen, both standups in NYC. There's some crossover with TAFS, Bein Ian, and Out For Smokes since theyre all NYC podcasters and comedy people so they are on each other's podcasts pretty often. Jordan Jensen is currently the new host of TAFS, while Adam is in Greece for a month, oiling up Greek boys.
Just look up Cumtown compilations on YouTube
I like Quorators. It can be a bit dry and repetitive but idk I find it funny. It’s just two guys and a guest reading stupid quoras. I would their pre-Cracked partnership episodes are better since they’re less censored. One of the hosts also hosts Pod Damn America, and the other was an editor at Hard Drive (the magazine that Elon stole jokes from and pretended he didn’t care after being caught red handed, only to obsess about it for the next week )
Uhh Yeah Dude is fun, just two guys with big personalities riffing on the news. Kinda like the old Street Fight Wednesday shows. They're both left-leaning libs.
It really doesn't get political, but Comedy Bang Bang is my favorite pod for laughs. They just improv silly characters. Paul F Tompkins is the most frequent guest and he has pretty good politics.
He's the guy who did that impression of Werner Herzog reviewing a hotel on Yelp, right? That's one of my all time favorite impressiona
I believe so. To be honest, I don't listen to every episode just the ones with names of comedians I like. And PFT is on a lot. Jason Mantzoukas too. If you like Al Yankovic, he's been on a handful and has great repor with the host, Scott Aukerman.
