I love the literal interpretation! Neighbor footed the ~$300 vet bill and she just told me she thinks it should be "lucky". I'm thinking calling this little shit that only in the neighbors presence. She will be an indoor only cat cause it's a fairly rural area with tons of wildlife that will make her disappear in an instant.

This has some fun potential: 8/ate, since she almost got ate. 8, one of the cylons from Battle Star Gallactica, she could have a nickname of Boomer, Athena or Sharon.
Why am I drawn to this so much? Like if she ever got a haircut for medical reasons, it's perfect. Also being a 6'6 ~270lbs super ally, I love subverting cultural normative expectations.

If we're going with an Aliens vibe, why not choose Newt? Small, disheveled, survivor type...?

Yeah, Ripley being the ultimate survivor (until she wasn't, spoiler alert), but I know so many people that named their pet Ripley I felt Weaver was a better choice.

I'm just shooting out something while drunk. But I heard a song by the lead singer of "the gaslight anthem" called "color me black" recently and because of my nature to go against anything, it's speaking to me.
