You sure they aren't baby black chickens?

I saw a red-beaked crow the other day, super rare. A Cornish Chough theyre called.

(I have no photos of my own but they look like these majestic bastards:)

There’s a bunch of them hanging out near the lighthouse on the end of Anglesey recently.

South Stack in Holyhead? That's where I saw them too!

Glad they’re still there! They’re awesome.

vastly overshadowed by their penguin cousins though!

Crows and / or ravens (forgive my ignorance) are such characters.

One time when camping, a few of them came down to the campsite to try to get some of my food. They had this whole act going on. They would try approaching from different angles. Inching closer, slowly. But when I directly looked at them, they would pretend they were doing something else: turn around, walk in another direction, playing it cool. Fucking hilarious.

“Corvids” is a good catch-all

Also includes Jackdaws and Jays.

Today I almost stepped on a batch of tiny baby grouse chicks. They must have hatched like 2 days ago they were so small and as they fled in terror of my Godzilla body they were barely staying on their feet just tumbling away frantically as mom called and hissed at me.

It took everything I had not to take a step and snatch up one of the slower ones. Such good camo too once they stopped peeping and running/rolling I couldn't see any of them. Had to tip toe out of there for fear I'd step on one.

Best day.

Slop it may be, but it predates AI. I think it's pictures of a different bird (not a crow) mislabelled.

I've seen this picture reposted about since 2021ish. GenAI had yet to become... A thing.
