Anyone want an overbearing 7kg cat that refuses to listen, insists on licking your face while clawing your neck, flicks kitty litter everywhere, opens every cupboard that he can, must be involved in everything and is currently nuzzled my fingers while I try to type? Anyone? Please?

Of course I'm not being serious, but he's really A LOT today!

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I don't know if he's real. I need a pic.

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 12 points 5 days ago (11 children)

Oh, he's very real. And he will YEOWL to remind you that he's real.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He's beautiful and fluffy. I'll take him. You're a bitch ๐Ÿ˜‚

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He's already packaged up in the box, he's coming over! ๐Ÿ“ฆ All jokes, we couldn't part with him, the house would be too quiet - although less stinky! Ten minutes ago I sneezed and he farted out of shock. He's certainly a character!

๐Ÿ˜‚ that's so funny.

So apparently last night I screamed in my sleep. I didn't know that I did, until I got a call from my dad saying that he couldn't sleep and had to drive into regional Vic at 5am. Maybe it's stress and anxiety, maybe the coffee I had in the morning, but I feel so guilty for waking everyone up when I didn't know what was happening.

[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 16 points 5 days ago (2 children)

yo, just in case you weren't aware that was an arsehole response from your father.

You hear a family member scream in the middle of the night you tend to go kicking in doors and if they sleepin', you disrupt that bad dream stat

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 11 points 5 days ago (7 children)

I'm tempted to start another account just so I can upvote this a second time.

I had to read the comment a few times before I could understand it, because a father hearing his daughter screaming in the night and not running in straight away to find out what is wrong and providing comfort just didn't make sense to me. Actually berating her for it is just appalling behaviour.

@LowExperience2368@aussie.zone the only question to ask here is WTF is wrong with your father, you have absolutely no reason to feel guilty.

so many hugs, there must be something awful on your mind to have you scream in your sleep .

I'm sorry your family responded as they did.

In my view the fact this is the fifth time means it's even more concerning, not less. Maybe talk to your psych about it.

Dog stepped in his shit whilst we were walking. But he's clean now.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I checked on my dog this morning and he was laying one right near the letterbox. He's got the whole yard and he chooses there. Fuck me.

[โ€“] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He's just making sure everyone knows.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It's like he deliberately picks the longest bit of grass to wrap it around too.

[โ€“] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 6 points 5 days ago

I respect his hustle.

Whilst I do enjoy a good drive in the countryside, in the dark trying to get home from work is not really the time. I think the GPS was trying to send me the long way around to avoid some traffic, but driving back country roads you don't know in the dark is not fun.

In good news though I had many packages when I got home, including the lost Bunnings parcel that has been spending the last week touring the state. Miss Meow has some new steps, which arrived with a bit of damage but seem to be holding together ok, and she also has a new mat to go in front of the litter trays to help contain her wild litter flinging ways.

I also have a couple of rugs which look fairly lightweight but should be decent enough for occasional use in the garage, a stand to put the toaster oven on, a rolling stand for my computer cpu, and new rollerblade style castors for my office chair. I just need to figure out how to get the old ones off.

And also a set of coasters I threw in as a last minute impulse buy and actually look pretty decent - each one has a similar but different pattern.

wooo last few feet of the path beaten into submission. That's over half a metric ton (literally, 600kg) road base compacted by hand. Hopefully sunday's rain is rich and fulsome, I'll see if there's any problems or dishes on the new part, correct, then SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND for my pavers

time to upgrade my phone

I am dreading transferring music, the apps seem to always change my import albums or album extras to standard albums and I lose a lot of good music

Come on 4pm. I'm already done for the day lol

No exciting plans tonight. Been too cold to go out. Just hassle the fluff goblin and maybe get pizza.

After the awful news out of India I decided to revisit a happier ending to a crazy situation and watched Sully. Damn near cried a few times just thinking about the goodness of people compared to what we see in the US today. Now I'm off to go watch some Mayday episodes and feel grateful for my life.

E: also, massive boo to Clint Eastwood and his anti government dickhead views for making the NTSB into some kind of villain, I guess it was just the beginning of the Trump years after all. Which is all the more sad to contrast with 2009, when it actually happened... Can't believe the GFC years feel better than what we have today.

Come on motivation!

[โ€“] just_kitten@aussie.zone 8 points 6 days ago

Went to bed in a thin thermal top, this was a good idea, looking at the cold ...

I've been taking melatonin these days to counter the lingering effects of the coffee and small amount of stimulant meds I'm back to taking. My dreams are not as clearly remembered as in the past but they seem to involve family a lot more, and combine them in very very weird ways...

Still really behind on writing although I powered through a heap of readings in one area yesterday. Read all that I really need to. Now there's just one more major area, and one minor area... And then I need to start working on slides and shut. Urgh. Looks like I won't be working much next week.

Back home.

I will miss doggo and all his quirks.

I did leave him some bad habits which Aunt will not appreciate.

Also will miss the community vibe in that suburb. Even though I'm literally 1 suburb away, the difference is pretty crazy.
