The justice department also released video surveillance of the hallway outside of Epstein’s cell, although the digital clock on the tape skipped from 11:58:58pm to 12:00am. Officials did not address the jump and added that no further materials would be made public.

Ah yes, the hallway footage with a minute cut out of it. The only footage we have because the camera in his cell was coincidentally not operational. And the only account we have of the events because both of the guards who were assigned to watching the most high-profile dude in the prison, while he was on suicide watch, in a camera-less cell, happened to both be asleep.

Surely this guy totally killed himself

This is American fascisms version of "died by falling out of a window". They're making it obvious they can disappear you if you become a problem for them; maybe even implicate you in CP to destroy your life before they take your life.

The fact that D's refused to release any of this strongly indicates Epstein island was an intelligence honeypot. How does the west feel about their "democracies" secret police enabling and protecting pedophiles as part of intelligence gathering and information warfare? That would be worse than any common war crime IMO.

It's not unrealistic that a billionaire staring down the rest of his life in prison would choose to go out on their own terms. It's also ultimately unknowable for any of us normies exactly what went down in that cell, but don't discount the possibility that he simply chose to off himself rather than deal with all of the unpleasantness he had to look towards

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 3 months ago

Wasn't he on suicide watch specifically to prevent him from doing that, though? Neglecting that duty seems to make them pretty culpable, I reckon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Jeffrey_Epstein#Death

[–] Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm more inclined to believe it was a least awful choice. He was a billionaire. Even with all the proof against him, he was never going to be in a normal prison. He killed himself because he had dirt on someone who had keys to the box they were going to put him in and dying on your own was a hell of a lot better than what they might do.

[–] misteloct@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 months ago

The video is 11 hours of a static room. Even in the age of AI, it's totally impossible to fake. Technology can't yet take another 11 hour video and slap a different timestamp on it, we're at least 1000 years away from that. So it's definitely real. Nothing to see here guys.

Publicly release all documents in the Epstein files that mention or reference Donald Trump.

Why not release the whole thing? :^)

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Why not ask for this before they all of a sudden don't exist? Almost like it's stagecraft.

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Because Bondi said it was on her desk for review in February.

Biden's admin didn't tamper with the DoJ, to a fault, since Garland was slow-walking everything related to Trump

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

That would ruin the bit.

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Because Democrats are not your friends, and this is just another attempt to keep up the illusion that they fight on our behalf.

[–] nullPointer@programming.dev 5 points 3 months ago

plus, they don't want the stuff with their names released.

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 45 points 3 months ago

What's sad is we already have a good idea on Trump's crimes documented in the files. Trump and epstin victims have already come forward! We know Trump is a pedo, Trump supporters know he's a pedo (for most deep Christians they like that about him.)

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 32 points 3 months ago

I want all the names. Not just trump.

[–] mazzilius_marsti@lemmy.world 24 points 3 months ago (1 children)

release the whole darn thing, no redacted.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Redact the victims' names but that's it.

[–] Fades@lemmy.world 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

If this shit is releasable like that, then why didn't Biden do it? Fuck trump, maga, conservatives, etc. but why is it such an L that Trump predictably tries to make it go away but it's fine that when the Ds had the WH they didn't do shit?

Each side is just playing this performative 'release the list!!!!' when they aren't in power. Disgusting no matter who is hiding this shit.

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

both parties are severely compromised.

that's why.

rich and powerful are all the same scum. just one is openly racist, and the other one is more closeted racist.

[–] pawnfuture@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago

Maxwell is still in prison and she knows a lot. I bet Trump has her killed next.

[–] VinnyDaCat@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

The narrative has been changing slowly over time.

And there has been at least one public case involving him and Epstein.

We all know he's guilty, and there is no way he is going to self-incriminates himself. The Epstein files will never see the light of day unless someone leaks them.

[–] escapedgoat@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

It's probably a pile of ash in Patel's back yard by now. Nothing to see here.

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 9 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Why can't they just remove trump and release it without it

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

There's nothing left.

But in all seriousness, there's likely too many higher up maga party people that redacting them would decimate the list, and it's alphabetical so it would be obvious.

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 5 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I'm not that up for US politics, but it wasn't released under Dems rule either

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

It could be 10% and still be enough redactions to drive up the conspiracy meter. Just imagine if it was:

  • Tony, first name
  • Redacted
  • Twirp, first name

(I'm suggesting that there are enough higher-ups to bury it)

[–] selkiesidhe@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It won't lead to shit. We know he's on there. They know he's on there. But for some reason they wanna felate an old crusty fat ugly demented moronic mans mushroom no matter if he's a rapist or not. Hell, I wouldn't doubt it if that knowledge turns them on more...

Maybe after Trump and everyone else on the list is dead and gone maybe then the list will come out. But even that is very unlikely.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Good lord they're stupid.

[–] GroundedGator@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Who fucking cares? What is it going to do really? There has been so much publicity of their relationship, it doesn't change anything. Will it result in charges against Trump? Unlikely, the only one I know of who was willing to put herself and her family at risk, is dead (suicide).

His supporters will find a way to excuse anything away. There could be a picture of Trump assaulting a young teen and they would just say it's not his fault she looked older than she was.

To those in this thread saying anything released shouldn't be redacted, remember there were victims, this wasn't just Jeff and Don having a brobait with each other.

I'm sick of the Democrats and their shitty platitudes, because that's all this is. Demand compassion and due process for the millions being terrified by federally protected kidnappers. Demand that Republicans meet to discuss the phasing out of some of the TPS rules (temporary is in the name and just because there is an EO doesn't mean there can't be a law that changes it). Demand that we stop defending the atrocities of megalomaniacs around the world. Demand that the legislative branch takes back the power of the purse and writes laws to affect trade.

Might be the only time I agree with the ball of congealed Cheeto vomit, but why the fuck are we still talking about Epstein?

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Demand compassion and due process for the millions being terrified by federally protected kidnappers...

And demand it with loud, coordinated, unifier voices. Do it unequivocally. None of this single statement, some "concern", some calling for vague "resistance", etc. Being weak and disorganized will do nothing.

[–] timbuck2themoon@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Everyone here will complain no matter what the dems do, especially after not giving them power to do anything tangible.

[–] Ruxias@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Apologists forget that Dems held majority at various times and squandered it.

They had their time to be good people and do the right things. Instead they paved way for fascism in their service to capital.

Everyone complaining about the various things the Dems do is reflective of people seeing them for the farce that they are. In essence, they are controlled resistance - a black hole to swallow up progressive movements and snuff them out before it threatens anything economically.

Who fucking cares? Obviously a lot of people troll. Donald stated he was going to release it… Bimbo Bondi stated it was on her desk… getting released soon. Now they don’t want it released. We know his name and other Dems are on it. We’ve seen many pictures released with him and Donald together with girls.

Yeah.. we care.
