Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is considering leaving his job after a heated confrontation with Attorney General Pam Bondi over his frustration with how the Justice Department has handled the Jeffrey Epstein files, according to a person who has spoken with Bongino and a source familiar with the interactions that Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel have had with Bondi.

“Bongino is out of control furious,” the person who has spoken with the deputy FBI director said. “This destroyed his career. He’s threatening to quit and torch Pam unless she’s fired.”

Bongino did not report to work Friday amid speculation about his whereabouts, said a source familiar with the perspectives of DOJ leaders who also believes that Bongino is considering leaving.

Theater. If the FBI really thinks that Pam Bondi is tampering with or has destroyed evidence, they can arrest her, full stop. Like every other law enforcement agency in the USA, they do not need her permission or a warrant if they have probable cause that a crime has been committed.

I bet my bottom dollar, he doesn't like working a job that requires long hours. The standard 9-5, or even longer at the fbi, is not what he signed up for. He wants to go back to making bank$$$ doing occasional sound bites for fox news and YouTube podcasts.

This fucker is nothing but a grifter. He didn't sign up for a real job with real consequences. He wants to go back to his easy payout gig. I take this to the grave. Charlatan and grifter, nothing more.

"No one wants to work anymore!"

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 12 points 9 hours ago

Didn't he go on fox news and whine about how he and Patel have to work all day and they miss their families?

[–] Pronell@lemmy.world 8 points 9 hours ago

Same as Al Queda operatives taking desk jobs in Afghanistan and hating their lives.

Be careful tearing down a system, you might need to live through the results of your actions.

I'd really love to move on toward people weighing something not being news.

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 13 points 10 hours ago

He's already made statements well before this that he basically hates his job. This allows him to go out self-righteously

I can't see Trump firing her, because she knows exactly how to play the game. Bongino is acting like his honest opinion matters, but the only thing that matters is framing things in a way that Trump finds flattering

Edit:

“Since you have been in office, President Trump, your DOJ agencies have seized more than 22 million fentanyl pills, 3,400 kilos of fentanyl, which saved—are you ready for this, media?—258 million lives.” Yes, she turned to the camera for the aside to the media.

22 million pills somehow mean saving 75% of the US population...

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

That's just science! And math!

The demand isn't there, that's supply side. Just because drug A could potentially kill this many people, doesn't mean it will, as those drugs are used by a select few, usually people who have a high tolerance. I assume you already know this, just putting it out there for the people who believe their bullshit.

OHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 12 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Can't imagine what less qualified nupty they could replace him with if he quit/fired.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 hours ago

Don't worry. You won't have to.

[–] BetaDoggo_@lemmy.world 6 points 10 hours ago

Could say the same for borh

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

They should have an old fashioned duel to see who quits. Maybe if we're lucky they'll both lose.

[–] ronalicious@lemmy.world 6 points 13 hours ago

big words... he won't though

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

These people have no idea where on Trump/Suzie Wiles rank they are.

Dan would have been down the bottom somewhere.

You're fired!
