The current president has already set a precedent that politically motivated violence is a valid form of protest and free speech that doesn't warrant prosecution. Up until that the precedents were much different.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 63 points 1 month ago (5 children)

Yeah but the current president means politically motivated violence perpetuated against the left is only valid. Violence towards the right, and him especially, is considered treason and subject to ICE detention.

[–] artifex@piefed.social 52 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Except everybody hates health insurance execs. It’s like the one thing we can all agree on.

[–] Krono@lemmy.today 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Why limit yourself to "health insurance" execs?

They are among the most egregious execs, but the capitalist rot has infected the entire system, not just one industry.

[–] bampop@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Right wing voters still want to suck corporate dick, it's just that health insurance also screws them over in such an obvious way that they get a momentary, and very limited, flash of understanding. And so far nobody seems to have figured out a narrative of how to blame it on the left.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

B---B---B---BINGO.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

That’s the way this country has always been

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Well he considers both types of violence speech, it's just you only have free speech to agree with him

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Sure, but only if you let him stack the cards against you. Why should you honor someone who doesn't even honor your law?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 month ago (8 children)

Whatever happened to Hillary Clinton’s basement pizza pedophiles? Where’s the CNN FOX NEWS update on that? Remember there were all these tunnels? Where they were raping children?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 1 month ago

Luigi for President, I don't know anything about his personal politics but he's gotta be better than Trump

[–] FilthyHands@sh.itjust.works 128 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He has a few ideas about healthcare I can get behind.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Key word here being “behind”.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 64 points 1 month ago

The fact he allegedly started attacking from the top down is good enough for me 1000%. Fuck all this "poor people are the problem" nonsense.

[–] hypeerror@sh.itjust.works 27 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

He shot a man on 5th avenue and his popularity went up.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

wow, callback to season 1

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 1 month ago

And if he happens to commit felonies then he's on track to be president

[–] Pringles@sopuli.xyz 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That bar is buried in the deepest mineshaft ever dug.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

i think i'm starting to understand those movies Journey To The Center Of The Earth and At The Earth's Core and that obsession. At one point we were actually digging just to see how fucking deep we could dig, and that's pretty neat when you think about it.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Better than most Americans.
He's the only one that actually did something, unlike the people crying about Trump on social media.

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Except he isn't the shooter.

If he runs for president they should drop the charges because that would make the trial political persecution.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

Murder is only cute when republicans do it. It’s less adorable and downright dangerous when someone with a name like “Mangione” does it.

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 92 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Luigi needs a presidential pardon, then run for office.

[–] teft@piefed.social 158 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He should just run. The current guy is a convicted felon and luigi didn’t do anything.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 59 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Also the current guy had most of his criminal cases thrown out because he was running for president.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago

and billionaires were bankrolling his lawyers.

Where do i vote yes?

[–] PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 72 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Good strategy from him attorney.

I mean it's kind of obvious, but still.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 62 points 1 month ago (1 children)

His attorney is absolutely top tier talent, and extremely well respected.

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

She's on MeidasTouch sometimes, she was an original talking head witht them from the start, always enjoyed her takes. Her ads she had to do were always funny too, feels like she's sort of in on the joke about the absurdity of a lawyer hawking a random product but its all good, clean, lawyerly fun 99% of the time plus a day

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 64 points 1 month ago (2 children)

by the way, TRUMPS court cases was bankrolled by billionaires, and people hot dog skin hogan was bankrolled by THIEL during his lawsuit against gawker. this is no different.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

I find it to be better when 50,000 people put $1 then when 1 person put $50,000.

One says I have a rich guy that supports me, the other says a large number of people support me for one reason or another.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

And his voters. And the RNC.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 61 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"gee I wonder why people are so upset"

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

The peasants are revolting

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 34 points 1 month ago

YES! Let’s have this debate!

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago

Anyone have the legit fundraiser link?

Please just message me with it... It's probably "against the rules" to publicize it.

[–] Nightlight17776@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 month ago

Luigi for president. Hell yes

[–] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is there a link to the interview?

[–] HiddenPotential@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

“You must be new around these parts.” There is no higher form of American free speech than the all holy dollar. Most Americans don’t even question that logic.

[–] Awkwardly_Frank@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Most Americans question that logic, but, as money is speech, anyone who questions it in a public forum gets shouted down by those who can afford to speak more ~~"freely"~~.
